FireChan Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 The Bills might have the second best run blocking oline in the NFL. If you aren't washed up Reggie Bush, you will average 5 ypc. CC Jonathan Williams That didn't answer my question. What happens if any #1 goes down? We lose our #2 in Karlos and Gillisee steps up. Back up RB's aren't replaceable? Every single team in the NFL loses players and has to replace them. There isn't a team that retains all their RFA/UFA. He had a high ypc because he averaged 6 carries a game. Karlos averaged 5.6 ypc the year before as the #2....earning our last 2 back ups averaged over 5 ypc two years in a row. CC Jonathan Williams Hogan will be easy to replace you guys. There's no reason to think we'll have bum WR's.
87168 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Spinning wheels. If BB likes MG, people should pay attention. that's all it boils down to. quite frankly, I think people are trying to down play it based off that fact alone.
PolishDave Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 The only truth to this is that the Patriots have Brady and that makes the rest of their moves easier. You're delusional if you don't think that Belichick, who's been poaching players in the division for years, doesn't realize the importance in financially hamstringing the teams that he plays most frequently. This is a win-win for them and only because we're in his division. He couldn't care less if we fall for the ploy and sign TD Mike for this outrageous salary. If anything, The Patriots are making us pay for the salary we give to McCoy, a fancy, shiny piece to a puzzle that we shouldn't have at this point. Whaley has scouted well, but I've lost all hope that he's capable of building a championship roster. You give the Patriots organization WAAAAAAAAAY too much credit. The offered the guy because they want him and they know him as a player very well. The rest is all nonsense.
dave mcbride Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 If they've signed MG to an offer sheet then you can bet they wouldn't care what happens with Blount if it means the Bills wouldn't be matching. Blount's ypc: 2013: 5.0 2014: 4.4 2015: 4.3 2016: 3.9 And he looked SLOW in the postseason.
JM2009 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 You give the Patriots organization WAAAAAAAAAY too much credit. The offered the guy because they want him and they know him as a player very well. The rest is all nonsense. NE is steps ahead of every other NFL franchise.
oldmanfan Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Is everyone here aware that Gillislee is not a Patriot right now?
Royale with Cheese Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 The difference is now he will get 26 carries a game and score frequently for Patriots. Dah. Probably 3 TD's per game against the Buffalo ills. So Gillisee goes from 6 attempts per game to by far the most in the NFL? The NFL leaders are typically around 21-23 carries per game. Bad contract for Gillisee....he's getting paid peanuts for the amount NE will be relying on him. CC Jonathan Williams CC Jonathan Williams Hogan will be easy to replace you guys. There's no reason to think we'll have bum WR's. Replacing Karlos Williams will be difficult. No other back up can come in and average over 5 ypc like he did.
BADOLBILZ Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Welcome to Billsville..... where backups are beloved and genuflecting at every doing of the Pats is a perverse defense mechanism to block out years of pain That's your emotion speaking. Just like the Bills telling the agent initially that they probably aren't going to match. Bills need to regain their composure and pay the man........McCoy is just a 200 carry back at best now........he really needs MG to take pressure and carries off of him without missing a beat, do all the short yardage, score the redzone TD's etc.. Without MG and with a very suspect WR corps this offense is at best a little worse.......and at worst A LOT worse. Plus, McCoy is certainly gone next year so as Coach Tuesday said.......does anyone really want to see the Clown Show go all three-ring again by taking a RB early in the draft? Yeah, I anticipate them finding another RB in the draft of UDFA this year.......but that guy needs to be the guy to rotate with MG in 2018 when McCoy is gone. It's a leap to have confidence that they will cover this after the way they handled the WR position last year. Egregious.

Bad contract for Gillisee....he's getting paid peanuts for the amount NE will be relying on him. Lewis and MG will be a very good combo for them. They re load very well. We can't even find the bullets.
billsfan89 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 The team gets a 5th rounder if they don't match. I am not too disappointed by this. Either way the team retains a player or they get value in the form of a draft pick back for him.
YoloinOhio Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 (edited) Spinning wheels. If BB likes MG, people should pay attention.he likes Blount too and was trying to re-sign him but couldn't. Which is what led to him trading a pick for MG. So Bills should take the pick and sign Blount, right? If I'm paying attention. Either him, or Jonas Gray. Is he still alive? 87168 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Is everyone here aware that Gillislee is not a Patriot right now? I think we are. the point is, as the FO, a "backup" rb scored 9 TDs for your team this season, and you just let him receive an offer from the NE patriots. the NE patriots, a division rival, proven contenders, and current champions. that's not smart.
PolishDave Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Maybe they take Jeremy McNichols in a later round to replace MG.
JM2009 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Joe BuscagliaVerified account @JoeBuscaglia 2h2 hours ago More Joe Buscaglia Retweeted Dan Audy Once again, nobody in the NFL would have given a 2nd round pick for Mike Gillislee.
dubs Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Lewis and MG will be a very good combo for them. They re load very well. We can't even find the bullets. MG averaged 3.5 ypc his rookie year. JWill averaged 3.5 yards last year, his rookie year. Coincidence, I think not.

C.Biscuit97 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Honestly, this move for the Pats is probably more important than having Tom Brady. The Pats will probably never throw the ball now.

They did not let him. The player decided to test the market in free agency. He has an offer and the Bills can match or give him a longer term deal. Reports are the Bills and he were working on a longer term deal. Hopefully they now get that done.
dubs Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 and score 9-10 TDs like MG did?Yes. Just like MG did.
