snafu
then what the hell are the fruits out there who want identity politics, hate speech banned, free everything for everyone, etc etc the democratic party is losing its base much faster than the right. the media may not show it but the truth is the democratic party is in shambles. Those people are the unintended consequences of moving the platform to the edge.

OCinBuffalo
Both. The current Democratic Party seems to forget the adage that "all politics is local." I thought you were ignoring me. I guess hiding from the only person who you consider to be your equal on this board was too... Well, it had to be something, didn't it? Something has to explain why you replied to a poster you "ignored". So lying and stealing == winning? Look, I expect this sort of thing from Jeff Lebowski, who as you'll remember "was the laziest man in LA County, which puts him in the running for laziest man, world-wide". He's a great character that I love to quote, ask anybody whose been here since 2005. But he's a character, in a story. He's a lovable...LOSER! This thread is about an election for Congress, that you lost, pitifully, given the huge $ and media advantage. Do you really think Jeff Lebowski or his ilk, is going to win you the House in 2018? Please, by all means run as many Jeff Lebowskis as you can in 2018. Many on this board will love them...because they are losers. EDIT: And doubly so AFTER they lose their elections. Tiberius
Those worries intensified this week after the commission sent letters to 50 states and the District on Wednesday asking for a trove of information, including names, dates of birth, voting histories and, if possible, party identifications. The letters also asked for evidence of voter fraud, convictions for election-related crimes and recommendations for preventing voter intimidation all within 16 days. While the Trump administration has said it is just requesting public information, the letters met with swift and sometimes defiant rejection. By Friday, 25 states were partially or entirely refusing to provide the requested information; some said state laws prohibit releasing certain details about voters, while others refused to provide any information because of the commissions makeup and backstory. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/trumps-voting-commission-asked-states-to-hand-over-election-data-theyre-pushing-back/2017/06/30/cd8f812a-5dce-11e7-9b7d-14576dc0f39d_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-top-table-main_voterintegrity-625pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory&utm_term=.0f8f6afa5506 Oh great, now he wants information on all the voters. What's he going to do, turn them over to Putin? Where are the states rights people on this one?

What's he going to do, turn them over to Putin? Where are the states rights people on this one? Whoa, whoa whoa. Are you telling me that the Washington Post is attributing some nefarious plot to something that trump wants to do? Wow, didn't see that coming. The one thing that no one is saying, is that it really doesn't matter that it's Trump in the WH. Any one with an R after their name is going to get the exact same treatment from the MS media. Trump just happens to be slightly less polished than most politicians, a bit more thin-skinned, fights back (which most spineless R's are reluctant to do), and gives a few fewer f*'s about what the WaPo, NYT, CNN, and the rest of the lying media think and say than most office holders. I'm not a big fan of Trump, but at least he's not letting the media steam-roller him. Edited July 1, 2017 by Philly McButterpants

gatorbait
This study found voter fraud happens between 0.0003% and 0.0025% of the time. https://www.brennancenter.org/sites/default/files/legacy/The%20Truth%20About%20Voter%20Fraud.pdf This study found 31 illegal votes in a billion votes cast. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2014/08/06/a-comprehensive-investigation-of-voter-impersonation-finds-31-credible-incidents-out-of-one-billion-ballots-cast/?utm_term=.f67197a5267a Trump and his team even said they would investigate the issue after he won and found nothing. Yes, some dead people end up staying on lists of registered voters, but here's what they don't tell you on fox, they never cast a vote. This notice by the administration is to help out future re-election efforts, it has nothing to do with eliminating voter fraud. Philly, I'm in the camp of people who think Trump actually cares more about what the press says. He watches 4-5 hours of cable news a day, and it isn't all fox because he responds in real time with tweets to stuff on CNN and MSNBC. All he has to do is shut up and start delivering for the middle class and his popularity will sky rocket.

Tiberius
In the wake of the Russian hacking campaign during the presidential race, some pointed out that the current, decentralized nature of American elections makes it difficult to manipulate tallies or registration data. If you want to do [Russian President] Vladimir Putin a favor, put all of this personal voter information in one place, online, on the Internet, Padilla said. http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/340311-states-push-back-on-requests-from-voter-fraud-commission Now who would want to do Putin a favor?
