KD in CA Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Well I suppose that all depends on which 100 acres it is.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I'd keep 10 acres for my future home, and sell the rest. Is this lake-front property?
707BillsFan Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 (edited) Location ... Location ... Location  If it's where I live now...the possibilities are endless. If it were in Arizona or Nevada; not a whole heck of a lot. Let's assume it's where I live, I'd probably sell most of it off (so I don't have to worry about what's going on in the back-40 - people growing pot on the land). I'd use the money from the sale to build the estate of my dreams (keeping a couple/few acres for myself). I looks like I could get about $2.5 for about 100 acres ... http://www.landwatch.com/Sonoma-County-California-Land-for-sale/pid/25037646 Edited April 18, 2017 by 707BillsFan

sherpa Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Grow grapes for wine if I was back in my mid 30s I do that on a much smaller scale, 1000 vines, Bordeaux grape. Its a lot more work than people imagine, depending on location.

sherpa Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 small winery? No. I have no desire to produce on a scale required to do that. I sell to a winery in the area. Growing grapes is extremely labor intensive.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 (edited) What would you do with it? what do you do with it now? Â Is the land productive for you or more of a burden? Â Is it cleared land or lots of strong tall trees? You could do Zip Lines. Â Creeks or ponds? Rural Camping and or hiking. Work with kids groups or Scouts. Edited April 18, 2017 by ShadyBillsFan
Captain_Quint Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Depending on where it is, Id sell all of the timber and build a Dollar General on it.
Guffalo Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 (edited) Hops and Barley fields for all the craft brewers out there. A buddy of mine does international shipping, his highest priced commodity lately is Hops and grains for brewing coming from Germany / Bavarian regions. Very expensive product.
