2017 NHL Playoffs.....Anybody care?

After the Penguins 3rd goal in the 1st, the Predators took control and fought back to tie it at 3 in the 3rd. Pittsburgh was held without a shot on goal for 37 minutes until late in the 3rd, however that shot on goal hit the net putting Pittsburgh up 4-3. Pittsburgh's fifth and final goal was an empty netter after Nashville pulled their goalie

That reply really stunk. I hate that rule. NBC games are awful because of all the commercials

nothing like a goal held up for 5 minutes and then disallowed by a wispy offside call that even with frame-by-frame replay they are 50/50 on it.

And you can't fix it the other, what if there is a scoring chance but its blown off sides by mistake. Can't fix that

The worst is if a goal might have been scored, and they won't stop the play.

One game a Red Wing shot rang off the post, and then in the ensuing minute a Leaf was high-sticked and bleeding like the stuck pig. When the whistle went they reviewed the shot and found it was a goal, therefore the high stick never occured.

I was shocked (and disappointed) when they overruled the call on the ice. Replay didn't show me anything to justify that.

I gave up on putting any emotion into replays from the NFL botching of it for decades now.

They just make up their minds to make it whatever they want, and like it when the fans go ape **** over horrendous replay workings.

I won't play that game any more.

There's the play... oh, it's going to replay.... okay I'll just fast-forward until they make the call and pick up the next pitch or faceoff and not play that game with them...

The stuck pig might disagree! :)

ALways against my Leafs.

I was convenor at a minor-level select game one night when on a goal to make it 2-0 the team trailing pointed out that the lineup was botched by the other team, noticed because an assist went to someone not on the official lineup.

Well.. that was fun, the coach of the punished team was an ex-NHL goon but he nodded and went along with both goals erased on the penalties handed out.

Agreed. Still the predators looked mostly in control of the game. Although, it's troubling that for as few shots the pens put on goal they scored so many goals. Plenty of blocked shots but Rinne has to stop that 4th goal.

We will never know how the game might have played out had that goal been upheld. They got robbed (IMO), then gave up 3 fairly quick goals. Was that a let down? Hard to say. But things like that can swing the momentum short term for sure in a game, or even a series. Bounce back, Nashville!

They have practice just on the north side of Vanderbilt across the street from where my son and grandson lived, and it's often open to the public. My son would take his 3 year old there for something to do. Very cool and maybe part of why the city is so strongly behind them. I went to a mid-season game and it was bonkers!

Wow what's going on here? The Preds look like the better team most of the game and then in one fell swoop the Penguins get three goals again, this time much later. Rinne has to get his game figured out and the Preds gotta find a way to get more than one of the 40 shots on net to get in there.

Pittsburgh owned that 3rd period

What I found to be strange is that the predators just collapsed in the third. Wasn't just the goalie. Their D disappeared too. Just got owned.

By the way, those now two "own goals" in this series is the result of the predators crashing at their net way too hard. It's weird.

IMO... Coaching is 60-70% of game. Only so much Lavio can get out of them @ this point. The Pens are rising to the top. They are the defending Champs.

After boost is kicking in. So little separation in these Leagues now. It is the team that can dial it in that prevails.

The Pred can make it interesting like the Oilers did in 2006 against 'Canes (interesting, Lavio is on other side of coin now)... But what you are seeing is the Pittsburgh talent and stamina as Champs separating.

It could turn on a dime if Pred can tighten it up and Rinne get back his groove.

Crap Carrie Underwood. I get my hot country pop stars mixed up. Looks like my genius prediction is in trouble. I thought the Preds should have won the first game but should have's could haves and all that. Will see what happens tonight!
