He is just as credible as everyone else who has called the crash, exposed the Ponzi scheme, and cried "Scam!" for the last 8 years. Within the next 2-5 years the same scams are going to be part of his 401k. Your wealth manager will be recommending 5% allocations to crypto to diversify risk and boost performance. Quote

I buy and sell every single day. what i do is not really of concern here. never have i stated what i have or what i am worth, nor should anyone. what is worth noting is that when i started this thread, what going by memory here so i may be off slightly, less than a year ago, BTC was $1200. today it is roughly $12000. that my friend is a 1000% fiat valuation increase. please tell me where else you have found such an investment vehicle that has rewarded you as handsomely. what is also worth noting is the belief of those who choose to participate of where they think the value is headed. row_33 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 It’s kinda vulgar to boast about alleged gains on investments. And this sounds like a basic pyramid scam pitch. It’s like when I only hear my gambling addict friends stories how they always clean out a casino when they play. Quote

I think maybe you meant something different..anyway, I am with you, no need to divulge amounts. I stated way back end of November that I bought some of the ETF, which is flat right now, so really losing based on what the market has done. As mentioned, also bought some ETH, and that is doing well. Forgetting amounts, will tell you that both combined equal less than 2% of my investable portfolio , so not exactly jumping in with both feet LOL. And in term of not losing casino/betting, well established in many threads on main board, that I got crushed this year. I only bet moneyline underdogs, and this was an outlier year where the majority of the dogs I bet covered, but did not win the game...so I got freaking CRUSHED and lost every penny in my football account. Had I not gone all in on Bills in the playoffs, would have had enough to bet Jaguars and the Titans on the money line, and the Jags were a little over +300, so good little win even with the Titans loss. Oh well, next year !!! Quote

Can't say I have a lot of interest in continuing to respond to cries of bubble and scam every time the most volatile asset class in the world falls a mere 4% in a day. Bitcoin is consolidating, Ethereum remains above $1,000 (that purchase in the $400s is looking ok), and you've never heard of any of the others I hold. I'm not really sure how to respond to your "I told you so" as Bitcoin CRASHES back down to the all time high realized in December. Today looks like a nice buying opportunity but I'm tapped out for the moment and do not have any additional money to toss into the game. Edited January 31, 2018 by Jauronimo Quote

I logged in to my phone this morning and had a strange TBD screen about a saved response. I clicked through it and had not noticed this was the thread it posted to until now. What posted this morning was not a new comment from me but an older one. Not really interested in this at this time. Just a passing amusement to see the hype machine froth. Quote

Nothing to do with bitcoin, but my wife thinks I am nuts for rooting for the dow ( and market in general) to have a nice 6-8% correction, and we are almost 100% long in equities. Feel to much pressure building. While I am not a technical guy, just feels way overbought to me short term. Having said that, I had the agida on the market at 18K, so WTF do i know??? Quote

But with the government running up the future’s credit card at an increasing rate, there’s no telling when this one comes. 2008 is not that long ago so when it comes, it could be a precipitous drop as people will flood the exits. Bakin Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 9 hours ago, Foxx said: question here relating to the stock market... with this unprecedented rise, would one possibly think that it might be a sign of inflation? For sure it is a symptom of inflation. People mistake inflation as ‘rising prices’ inflation is an increase in money supply. That supply which was held tight by banks for so many years has been trickling into all asset classes. Lots of cash chasing few goods. Thats why art and real estate and bitcoin prices are skyrocketing also, a 30+ year bond market bull may be finally dying. Quote
row_33 Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Is there still a market for negative interest bearing bonds? depends on the definition of inflation, the current one has excluded the true effect of skyrocketing house prices for a long time now. Quote

Seems like the golden days of ZIRP are coming to a close. Not sure there will be much demand for treasuries in the short or long term. Inflation is classically defined as an increase in the money supply...but banks have sat on that cash for some time and drained monetary velocity. It’s now coming back with a vengeance. Quote

I would think so on ZIRP, prolly overdue by a year or two. Can you explain the bolded? Thank you.(not sure I can google and get a good, succinct explanation, and it sounds interesting) Quote
