Contrary to his stage persona he was purported to be a very kind and caring man. He's been one of my all-time favorites for many, many years - he'll be missed terribly. Rest in peace.

RIP, last of his kind.

All kinds of enjoyed bits and routines from the years gone by. Especially him ripping into Norm and Artie in that movie.

Sucks. Loved him growing up. Underrated as a actor as well. "Innocent Blood" and "Kelly's Hero's" come to mind.

Saw him at Melody Fair when I was a kid. I still remember how hilarious he was, especially when sparring with people in the crowd. Extremely quick wit. He could slice and dice you to pieces before you knew what hit you. RIP

Loved him. He was a great guest start on some of my favorite 60's sitcoms. The Munsters, Andy Griffith, Get Smart (great episode), Gilligan's Island.......

He was also in a really good episode of the original Twilight Zone that starred Burgess Meredith - Mr. Dingle the Strong:
