JP-era Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 What are you smoking??? He had an off year and never really got into a rhythm. Not to mention he was injured most of the season. Tiki Barber, Curtis Martin and Jerome Bettis all have had bad seasons in the past. Last year, Henry had an off year. Arizona isn't backing out because of Henry's sulking... it's because there are a ton of RBs on the market and the draft is deep with backs. 258086 Your statements beyond "what are you smoking" tell how you feel very well. Your crack about "crack" isnt necessary.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Curtis Martin ...had bad seasons in the past. Last year, Henry had an off year. 258086 he did? he's rushed for over 1000 yards in each and ever season he's been in the league.
GG Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 What are you smoking??? He had an off year and never really got into a rhythm. Not to mention he was injured most of the season. Arizona isn't backing out because of Henry's sulking... it's because there are a ton of RBs on the market and the draft is deep with backs. 258086 I'm guessing that whatever I'm smoking pales on comparison to Henry's stuff. Every running back had an off season, and every running back at some point has to fight a challenge. How come Bills had the only RB controversy when two other teams with better starters than Henry used No. 1 picks to select RBs? Could it be that it was known to NFL scouts that McGahee, once healthy, was head and shoulders above Henry? Drew Rosenhaus' newsplants in the summer were designed to put pressure on the coaching staff to play the best player. And how did Henry respond to this challenge to his job and manhood? By sulking. You may not choose to believe stories that Henry sulked in the locker room, but I believe them, bcause his action on the field was totally consistent with a guy who was just going through the motions - Missed blocks, wrong route running and a general lack of effort. His "lingering" injury was also curious, especially for a guy who previously played with a broken leg. In the end, no one screwed Henry more than Henry. If he gave a solid effort in '04, McGahee probably has fewer carries and there are fewer questions about Henry's ability, and Bills would have had a hard choice this year. Henry's trade and contract value would also have skyrocketed.
Gavin in Va Beach Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 This is assuming Henry would play for the Bills this coming season rather than sit out. I tend to believe if it came to it, he would sit out.
John from Riverside Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 they're not going to cut travis, silly man. He's dirt cheap and we have him for a year. If we have to wait until a drafted RB gets injured in camp to get a 2nd rounder or impact player for him in trade, that's what the bills will do. We'll either get the right price for him, or he'll be our backup in 2005. 257862 Unless Travis has become such a locker room cancer that he is causing serious disruption......
