When they unnecessarily extended him I expected he wouldn't be in Buffalo to see the extension years........I still expect that.

This no-show just adds that little bit of intrigue to what should have been a fully attended first OTA...........it's a small show of disrespect to the new HC/staff........not much, but something.

I don't take it for more than that......but McDermott seems like he wants everyone in the organization on one page......as opposed to past regimes where many exceptions were granted.

Nah. Marrone was the same way and players like Dareus still survived because they're really good. Talented, but less disciplined players still last on teams run by the likes of Belichick and Tomlin because those coaches aren't stupid enough to overreact to stuff like missing a voluntary OTA.

Pretty sure I wasn't allowed to skip work on my kid's fifth birthday...

You could've taken the day off, if you really wanted. Even if you weren't celebrating, but just wanted to use it as an excuse.

Unless you're a peon.

Bruce Smith never used to go to these either. Shady will be ready to carry the offense again in September

Not just work.......first day of work with new boss.

He spoke with the boss. It's not like Marshawn, who had no contact with the new coach whatsoever (until mandatory minicamps started), skipped ALL the voluntary workouts, and gave no reason.

You're right about the article but I get the sense that something may be simmering between the Bills and McCoy.

McDermott could have cleared the air by saying that he spoke with McCoy and he had personal reasons for not attending ect. ect. ect but instead said ". "It is voluntary, though. That is what it is. I'm encouraged by the guys that are here, and that's really where my focus is at this time." Its like when your wife/girlfriend says,"do what you want".

It's voluntary, which means the Bills head coach has nothing to say about it. Otherwise he is violating the CBA.

Gosh -- by the reaction you would think Shady was out at 3 AM at a private club smacking off duty cops over the head with champagne bottles....He was probably making sure the rented pony/jackass showed up on time..

(Sorry Yolo-- I missed the reference before I posted..)

This is turning out to be as big a brouhaha. And ultimately will turn out to be a huge nothing as well.
