YoloinOhio Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) Jerry Jones notifies all GMs they're permitted to contact Tony Romo to schedule workouts, visits per @MikeGarafolo http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000797137/article/jerry-jones-gives-gms-permission-to-pursue-tony-romo?campaign=Twitter_atn Edited April 4, 2017 by YoloinOhio
YoloinOhio Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 @albertbreer Likely the Cowboys' final swing at trying to facilitate a trade. Works for Romo, too, b/c it allows him to gauge interest.
MarkyMannn Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 For all the service Romo has given the Cowboys, they should just give him his release so he can hook up with a club. No one is trading for him, not with that contract as they know you have to cut him. Cut Romo, let him swing his best deal for himself. Cowboys owe him. Besides, what were they going to get? A 5th? No one is giving a 1st or 2nd, not with the circumstances
Andrew Son Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Has McD made the call yet?? Hey, Tony, wait until you see this player friendly playbook!
JohnBonhamRocks Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 "Mills doesn't even touch the speed rusher off the edge and -- ugh -- looks like they're bringing out the cart..."
dpberr Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 This is Jerry Jones being a cheap bastard. Can't release him for nothing, you know.
LeGOATski Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 "Mills doesn't even touch the speed rusher off the edge and -- ugh -- looks like they're bringing out the cart..." Pretty much the likely scenario for any team that gets him. He's a gamble, but could give a lucky team success for a year or two.

TheElectricCompany Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Can it be that the market just isn't that hot for Tony Romo?
dickleyjones Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 This is Jerry Jones being a cheap bastard. Can't release him for nothing, you know. and why should he?
likei've Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) This is Jerry Jones being a cheap bastard. Can't release him for nothing, you know. If the Pats make this move they're ahead of the curve and lauded for their genius. Jerry Jones tries to make a move and he's "cheap". Eesch... Edited April 3, 2017 by likei've
frostbitmic Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Romo will either be a Cowboy this year, released or retire. No team is going to trade for him and that contract considering he's made of balsa wood ...
YoloinOhio Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 @edwerderESPN Teams skeptical of Jerry Jones allowing contact with Tony Romo, believing doing so would confirm trade interest and further delay release
Augie Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Hey, Tony, wait until you see this player friendly playbook! ...and we'll throw in a pool table for your basement!
snafu Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 ...and we'll throw in a pool table for your basement! I think Romo might be limited to single-level homes at this point.
Augie Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I think Romo might be limited to single-level homes at this point. The old "master on main" is critical to certain physically challenged individuals. (But it is rare for NFL QB's.)
