Webster Guy Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I save all the games and watch them periodically in the offseason so I can keep up with some of you genius level football guys here. The two that stick out as the most heartbreaking but still fun to watch are the Seahawks and 2nd Dolphins game. Anyway, here a few thoughts from Miami: Filling in for Cordy Glenn, Kujo really did a nice job. He has such a perfect OT body, reach, light on his feet, strength etc. Man I wish he could play RT. The Brown Brothers had a poor showing. Zach slower than I remember him, Preston as slow as we all remember. Im now convinced we are drafting a LB early, even with Ragland back. There were two situations where the play call from Lynn came in too late and hurt us badly. One led to a penalty which cost us a 1st down on the fins 20 and eventually we missed the fg and got zero. Gilmore's poor tackling directly cost us points in a game that eventually went to OT. Douzable, Dareus and Kyle played remarkably well. (Pouncey hurt, Urbik playing center that game) Touchdown Mike so fast out there, three runs around the edge just blowing by defenders with speed. Pretty rare to get around the corner like that in the pros. He also returned a kickoff which I forgot, wonder if he'll compete for that in camp? Last thing that stood out was Tyrod's versatility. Kiko was sort of stuck between being a spy and trying to figure out if he should drop, rush or just stay put and play the scramble. It's like TT took him out of the game and they only had 10 defenders out there. Clay and Sammy had monster games on some really nice throws. Nice job by the 12th man as usual. Place was rockin. I turned it up loud to drown out the pain of this offseason.
Dragonborn10 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Nice post but what is painful about this off-season? They got rid of Rex and his fat brother. The defense will be so much better.
Heavy Kevi Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I save and rewatch as well. Last 2 years, it is crazy how much late play calls killed us. So many delay of game calls, timeouts, and wasted plays. I'm convinced that if the OC (obviously Dennison now) can get the call in quickly and doesn't call trick plays on 1st, (wildcat, etc) we will actually have far fewer 3 and out's. And since the 3 and out is one of our biggest problems, we could get much better at sustaining drives and gaining TOP.
Elite Poster Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) Did you see Kyle miss 3 tackles on Ajayi with the last being the huge one in OT? I swear he's one of those immune guys in Buffalo who we aren't allowed to call out when he has poor plays. Kinda like goal line fumble Freddy. I'm surprised you didn't notice Hughes awful game. No leverage or contain on several big dolphin runs. Edited April 3, 2017 by Elite Poster
Bill_with_it Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I stopped when you said the statue is light on his feet. He is not light on his feet.

No leverage or contain on several big dolphin runs. I just remember a db, running from the right side to the left to cover for the missing man, right at the snap, He left the spot right where Ajayi gashed the D. Very, very bad that none of the 10 players on the field, Rex, or his 27 assistant coaches took time the time to count to 10 during the TV stoppage. This is why McDermott gets praised for "attention to detail." It's the anti-Rex compliment.
BillsFan17 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 There is one thing I absolutely think gets cleaned up with McDermott... the awful delay of games and look of utter confusion from just about everyone. So many times we saw guys looking like they were still trying to figure out their assignments as the ball was snapped.

No leverage or contain on several big dolphin runs. You just called him out and no one here seems to have a pitch fork... Williams may not get the heat as much because for every missed tackle there are a handful more important plays that will go just as unnoticed. Sure, the guy is older and injury prone. However, he's not one to rest totally on his laurels. The guy still brings it every week. That being said, I have often strongly considered drafting another stud DT and move kyle to more of a rotational guy understanding his physical limitations at this point in his career. We are too high for a guy like Brantley or McDowell. However, if we came into the second and scooped Adams or Jones from ND...
row_33 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 If I hear one more person saying they are rewatching another game from last year, I'm having them committed tomorrow.

Plenty of mocks have Allen falling to us at 10, where he would likely be BPA.

OP had a well thought out post- basically stated hes no expert. No reason to thump your war chest on him, just sayin. Sometimes theres better ways of saying things.

Sometimes theres better ways of saying things. It was a good posting. Just don't start reviewing last year and figuring the Bills would have won every lost game if only one play or ref's call didn't ruin it, therefore it was really a guarantee of a win in the next season.
HappyDays Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 any other relatively competent coaching staff would have won that game given the amount of talent this team has. So true, literally if our players just knew the plays when they took to the field we would have won. Having 10 defensemen on the field for a key play at the end was an absolute joke, as embarrassing as anything the Bills have done during the drought.
BillsFan17 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Plenty of mocks have Allen falling to us at 10, where he would likely be BPA. After having the issue with Shaq and his shoulder, would Allen really be a safe bet? Because talent wise hes a top five pick, so if he slides down to ten, that to me says enough people are worried about his shoulder.
