1) Bikes do have a motor. That motor is the human being.

2) Actually yes, they are meant to attract attention, so careless people driving on the road can see them. Spandex shorts also increase blood flow to the legs and reduce lactic acid buildup. Yes, really.

3)Cyclists pay taxes on infrastructure just like everyone else.

1. Like I said....whiny lobbyist. Humans are not motors. Also elephants are not windmills and roses are not clouds.

2. Ok keep telling yourself that. Also, tell your psychologist that. He'll know what to do.

3. If they also drive cars then yes they do.

Cyclists are borrowing the road. Like any borrower they should know what is within limits and off limits. They should also act polite like a guest in someone's home would act. You don't go to someone's house and dress up weird, block their way as they try to move around their house and then yell at them even thought they are 5 times your size do you?

They are biking, not burning fuel so they are not being taxed as they would be if they were driving a fossil fuel burning vehicle. Bicycles are using the road and being taxed less.

Road building and maintenance is tied to mpg. If everybody rode bikes, the money to build & maintain roads would have have to come from other sources not tied to the actual usage of the road.

Maybe they should track the miles driven/rode by any vehicle, bicycle, etc... Then certify it and tax according.

Like 4mer said above, bicycles are "guests"... Others should have priority. Fuel burning taxpayers should WHILE on the road should have priority. Bikes are freeloading.
