Elite Poster Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Sure he would. If he was playing with the 2016 Pats. Modern NFL offenses would demolish 1930s defenses that were designed to stop something different. But the rules and schemes were different back then. Could Brady have operated a 1930s style option offense better than the QBs back then? I don't think so. He's a near perfect QB for today's game but I don't think his skill set fits the 1930s game. His skill set didn't fit the 1930s simply because nobody had tried playing that way yet. It's not like the human race is evolving in 70 years.
Bills4everNY Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 They didn't have cheerleaders in hot pants back then?
Elite Poster Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 I do want to point out the parts in this clip where guys are losing consciousness and getting dragged back up to their feet. Makes me cringe.
Antonio Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Nice! Thanks for shearing. Looks a lot like backyard football, lots of runs, option and power.
JohnBonhamRocks Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 just by reading the thread title, the first words into my head were "ground and pound"
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 His skill set didn't fit the 1930s simply because nobody had tried playing that way yet. It's not like the human race is evolving in 70 years. Look at the size of the average person and athlete in particular in 1930 vs now. The human race may not have "evolved" in that amount of time, but human size and health have changed quite a bit.
ExiledInIllinois Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Brady wouldn't play without a facemask. He would be too frightened to play.
Chandler#81 Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Great stuff for this old codger! Thanks for sharing. Not only no facemasks, the PK didn't even wear a helmet! Note to Elite Poster; Tom Brady's Mom wouldn't have let him play, if he were alive back then.
