Roundybout Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Yes, Simms is gone! Now, get Joe Buck out of there and we might have something!
K D Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 he will get bored pretty fast and wish he was playing. is there anything more boring than golf on tv?
GunnerBill Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 He can't be worse than Simms.... but what does this mean for the great twitter account that is philsimmsquotes.... we talked about this.
Bangarang Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 he will get bored pretty fast and wish he was playing. is there anything more boring than golf on tv? Since Romo loves golf and football I'd say he's excited for his new job.
Seasons1992 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 he will get bored pretty fast and wish he was playing. is there anything more boring than golf on tv? How DARE you, with the Masters coming up this weekend........it's a tradition unlike any other! Just like the Bills missing the playoffs........
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I agree. Not sure which article it was that I read a couple days ago, but it stated that Romo has made over 125 million off of his football contracts. Thats not including endorsements or anything else. Not bad for what, 15 years worth of work, eh? ...with Gruden making $6.5 mil/yr, Tony easily gets $1+ mil/yr.....think he'll get by ok.........
Big Turk Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Yeah Romo making a killing by invoking his one-time "get paid" clause when being cut basically giving him his entire salary for next year...that's a whole lot more than he would have gotten with any other team...
K D Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Since Romo loves golf and football I'd say he's excited for his new job. I think he would rather play both. He's still a young man
cba fan Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) @AdamSchefter It's not just FOX in pursuit of Cowboys QB Tony Romo; it's also CBS making a strong push to add him to its team, per sources. This could be posturing to force Cowboys hand as Cowboys did not want to release him. No one would retire and walk away from some deferred or other future money or be subject to paying back some sign bonus. Except Barry Sanders, who of course, probably had no idea and was stunned when courts ruled he had to pay back millions in sign bonus. If Romo goes and talks to Favre for advice.......he could resurface several times yet. Edited April 4, 2017 by cba fan

John from Riverside Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 wait...but someone right here said he was a better option for us..... or did I misread that
WhoTom Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 No interception jokes yet? I'm saving mine for when Cutler retires.

iinii Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Where are all those posters who were pulling the trigger to get Romo now?
26CornerBlitz Posted April 4, 2017 Author Posted April 4, 2017 @nflnetwork BREAKING: Cowboys have turned in paperwork to release QB Tony Romo, officially making him a FA should he decide to return. (via @RapSheet)
26CornerBlitz Posted April 4, 2017 Author Posted April 4, 2017 @MikeGarafolo Cowboys statements on the release of Tony Romo @tonyromo I guess it's time to start dressing up. #CBS @TomPelissero In a statement, CBS says it is discussing with Phil Simms his future role, confirms Tony Romo will be lead game analyst. End of another era.
DC Tom Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I predict that Romo will still blow at least one game in the fourth quarter, and be out of the booth, injured, by week 8.
