GunnerBill
My opinion is that he always only wanted to go to Denver and once it became clear that they were not really interested he decided to hang them up. I never really thought he would end up in Houston.

I never really thought he would end up in Houston. I actually thought that the dome in Houston would be a better place for Romo than Denver. Obviously it doesn't mean he saw it that way. wppete
Awesome for Romo. Great QB but his body just can't stay healthy. He's probably going to cash in big time and should be great on TV.

Chuck Wagon
why retire ?.....won;t romo owe or have to pay back some bonus money ? just wait til they release you That's what is happening. The Cowboys are going to release him and then he's going to retire. Broadcasting is the way to go for him, all the networks want him right now, Gruden is making $6.5 mil with ESPN, Romo could very likely land around $5 mil to work ~20 games a year, play all the golf he wants and never take another hit. boco357
Please go to CBS ,so we don't have to hear Phil Simms as often. Edited April 4, 2017 by boco357
TheFunPolice
The guy broke bones in his back... He's got all the $$ in the world and once you're a broadcaster you never lose a game and everyone loves you AND you make millions and work a few days a week for 1/3 of the year. Where's the downside? 26CornerBlitz
@SlaterNFL Source: Tony Romo is "retiring" from football to pursue broadcasting, BUT if Cowboys ever REALLY needed him, he'd consider coming back.

Chuck Wagon
Please go to CBS ,so we don't have to hear Phil Simms as often. Few things would make me happier than seeing Simms demoted. I think Simms and Aikman are both terrible (but Simms much more so), they are in their jobs because of who they were on the field, but no one under 35 really remembers much of Simms career. 26CornerBlitz
@NFLResearch .@tonyromo has the highest career passer rating (97.1) of any quarterback that has not won a Super Bowl as a starter
26CornerBlitz
@AlbertBreer Per @sbjsbd, Tony Romo will not just land with CBS in 2017, but also replace Phil Simms as its No. 1 color guy. @RapSheet The CBS job was the most attractive to Tony Romo — being in the No. 1 booth and doing golf. In his mind, not a tough call.
