Dont have to. Anyone can see something is happening with Whaley. Either a lesser role or fired.

he already has a "lesser role." VP of Communication, brought in by McD, has removed him from speaking to the media. The medical staff no longer reports to him. They report to mcD. It's obvious mcD is running the show. Whether they remove him from the organization is a bit of a stretch, but whatev. Right after the draft is usually when you would see something like that.

One can always hope that his role (which he cant even state is) is lessened!

So, when Bucky Gleason runs his fat mouth and says "I'm just trying to figure it out what it is you do exactly," how would you have responded? I'm looking for specifics here.

It would never have gotten to the point where he had to answer that embarrassing question.

Look, this is pretty simple. You can't sit there and say that you didn't know your HC, who was about to get fired, was at risk ("in trouble") of being fired. You can't sit there and say that you didn't ask the owner why he fired the HC (without telling you he might be about to do just that??). You can't say "I don't even know what he's in charge of" regarding Brandon. You can't state that the guy you r owner just fired was the guy who suggested his replacement be Anthony Lynn. You can't say that Lynn was in on the conversation to bench TT when Lynn said he was not.

How hard would any of this been?

How enlightening I didn't realize that Rex was gone...

The designated targets (Whaley, Brandon, "fill in name here", etc.) will be ragged about even long after they gone. Once targets, it will not matter what they do, they will be attacked until they are gone.

Maybe it is not so much what those folks have done or are doing that is WRONG. Maybe it is just that the Pitt Bulls must ALWAYS be RIGHT.

Actually, criticism is forthcoming when you don't get into the playoffs. That lack of results tends to be frowned upon.

The point is that it doesn't take being an NFL GM to have avoided that performance.

You asked me and I told you--all common sense stuff. What are you disagreeing with? Or are you? I can't tell by your response.

Under whaley there has always been the "one voice" policy, and when fat mouth Rex was here, during the season that was him...Boyko being brought in doesnt lessen Whaleys role, we had a PR guy before Boyko was brought in...so that dudes role was replaced, not Whaleys

Right, the whole staff has been working all year under Whaley and you want the GM fired a month before the draft? Brilliant

I could have told you that

Well seeing as that report was thoroughly disregarded on this board, I don't believe you.

After the season with Rex.

Not now.

Early January is an extremely busy time for the scouting process and Whaley, Manos, and Co. were neck deep. Just not a good time from a practical stand point. I get that the Pegulas would be embarrassed by Whaley's bumbling in front of the microphones, but to fire a GM at that time of year takes something far more egregious. When McD was hired, several of us suggested if Whaley wasn't on board, he was going to be let go after the draft when it makes the most sense to do so.

the "one voice" you are referring to pre-Boyko was during the season only, that Whaley deferred to the HC. Clearly you still saw Whaley do press conferences at OBD and the combine and interviews on WGR. That's not the case anymore and it aligned with the change between Berchtold and Boyko. This was reported right after Boyko was hired.

Rodrigo struggles to make any kind of salient point.

yea im familiar with that article...where does it say Whaley is being fired/phased out/replaced?

Who cares if the GM doesnt speak to the media and instead its the HC, great, more time for the GM to do his actual job and not try and placate the media hacks
