Updated WR depth chart ad see it:

WR1 S Watkins '17 > S Watkins '16

WR2 Rookie '17 < R Woods '16

WR3 P Brown '17 > M Goodwin 16

WR4 A Holmes 17 } Hunter/Easley/Harvin '16

WR5 B Tate '17 < B Tate '16

WR6 W Powell '17 < W Powell '16

WR7 Everyone else

On the whole I think we're better if Sammy can play a full season and Holmes replaces Hunter's red zone prescense and Easley's ST coverage. Yet asking a rookie to replace Woods is asking a lot. Also think Listenbee could be a surprise guy that might replace Tate as our primary return specialist and might be better as might offer more in receiving game as a poor man's Goodwin.

Not sure how Philly Brown is better than Goodwin.

Swap Philly and Holmes, I'm with ya.

health is the best strength you can have to your game

Not too many games are won from the whirlpool tub...the guys ribs were like fine china...

Great returner, but needs to give up the stat hunt for the good of the team. I love the signing just for that. But, he was also a great fill in receiver, and did some run after catch that was excellant. Good man to have...a pro if he has anything left in the tank. Let McD decide that......

Would not surprise me in the least if they went into the year with the WR depth chart looking like -

Sammy Watkins

Andre Holmes

'Philly' Brown

Kolby Listenbee

Brandon Tate

Especially if they were to draft O.J. Howard to pair with Charles Clay.

Great returner, despite his age, and I'm happy too see him back as a Bill, nice re-signing

However let's honest

He caught 8 balls last year

He is NOT a #3, a #4, or even a #5 WR

The fact is Walter Powell had twice as many snaps as Tate did last year

Tate is a body in case of multiple WR injuries or might still have to win a job in camp

The signing, as well as Philly and Holmes, who caught 24 and 16 passes last year

Does not alleviate badly needing a serious NFL starting #2WR or even a starting #3WR

That is if you are serious about upgrading at starting WR for 2017

Otherwise I like the depth acquired and that we are going into camp with more known historically durable players, Listenbee aside

It does look like Butler, Washington, and Lewis will all have a hard time surviving the cuts

Assuming Tate, Philly, Holmes, Powell, and Listenbee all make the team which is not assured

CB in 1st, SS in 2nd.

If we aren't going WR, then trade down twice in the first. You can get a 1st round Talent CB in the 2nd. Trade down in the 2nd and get a safety. If we aren't going to take a WR to be a true #2 in this draft this year, trade the heck down and get as many pics this year and next as we can

I personally say take WR, but trade down to say 13 or so and get another pick then take one. but like I said, if the Bills don't go WR in round one (which is stupid if they dont', so you know they won't) then trade down a ton and pick up DB's

I'm seeing LB as the pick. Whaley even said LB is the biggest need on defense for McD. I think he specifically said weak side LB.

correct. It's vital for his D to function well. Trade down a few spots, pick up Cunningham or Reddick, then CB and S in the second.depth beyond that, and call it a wrap

We're stupid for not drafting another WR in the first...? 2 of our last 3 first round picks were spent on WRs, this would make 3 of 4. Why not look in the 2-3 for another WR?

I'm really happy to hear this I was hoping they would bring him back. I don't know how much he offers as a WR, but I thought he was VERY underrated as a return man last year. I think he almost single-handedly kept us in a few games last year with some of his plays on special teams.
