Not a bad topic to start. But I'd stay with McCoy. I see Sherman becoming a malcontent like Gillmore (and why does Seattle want to trade him?!!). Keep McCoy AND draft a RB to be his eventual successor.

In all fairness, Sherman would be the best guy to torment Brady for the last year or two of his NFL life. I say do it

HELL NO!!! (In my Stephen A Smith voice)

Don't worry, Seattle would laugh in Whaley's face if he proposed such a trade.

You said the draft was deep at RB. Why would Seattle give up a top 4 DB for an aging RB. They can just draft a young RB and keep Sherman

They wouldn't even consider it. I doubt they would give us a 4th round pick for McCoy.

In an NFL draft that is deep with running back and cornerback talent, this trade might make sense for both parties. Seattle may not get the value they are looking for with a Sherman trade with such a deep draft class. Mccoy is 28 years old and still posting big time numbers in the running game. He is under contract until 2019 with a base salary of roughly 6 million and a cap number of around 9 million per year. Sherman (also 28 years old) is under contract until 2018 with a base guaranteed salary of roughly 11 million and cap hit of 13 million. As part of the trade, perhaps Sherman would need to agree to an extension. Although McCoy would be a significant loss, I think Gillislee would be capable behind our pretty solid O line. This is a draft deep with running back talent so a rb could be drafted in the later rounds to compliment gillislee. Seattle recently signed Eddy Lacy, but McCoy would be a deadly weapon in the seattle offense especially with his ability to catch the ball. The acquisition of Sherman would solidify our secondary and add some much needed grittiness to our defense.

Leading the NFL in rushing was accomplished more by design IMO.

McCoy is a very gifted runner, one of the best in the league.

Sherman is a very gifted CB, arguably the best in the league.

I like this trade OP.

It's been a while since we got a trademarked kdiggz take.

Just wait until the draft. This board is going to be on fire!!

I think McDermott would not want Sherman on this team, after the outburst he had on the sidelines last season getting in the offensive coordinators face.

Plus, McCoy is our offense. I mean we do have Sammy and "the replacements"..
