Kirby Jackson Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 You really don't think he's a top 90 or so qb?I just think that people structure their QB depth chart in a certain way -starter, developmental guy and backup. He's probably top 90 overall but I don't think a team would prefer him to someone like Chad Kelly (for example). I'm not sure what role he fills? As an example if the Raiders draft Josh Dobbs (for example) they may think that EJ is more likely to help them today but Dobbs is a better use of the roster spot. Does that make sense?
RevWarRifleman Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 End of an era You mean end of an error End of an er More like the end of an error. Good luck EJ.
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Good !@#$ing riddance   atta boy, way to be classy...    so much for those clamoring for him to go the the cfl.   Quarterback EJ Manuel likely will sign with the Oakland Raiders  although not confirmed best of luck to the kid.
WGBillsFan Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Carr has some competition in training camp....ok I can't even say that with a straight face.

Presumably he is signed to compete with Cook for the #2 job (McGloin has gone hasn't he?). If they think he is a more competent #2 at this stage than the 2nd year player he sticks and Cook remains their #3 developmental guy. If they don't he gets cut in August and Cook is the 2 and they probably don't carry 3 QBs.
Buffalo86 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Just texted my Raiders fan friend. Â Me: Raiders just signed EJ Manuel. Him: What the f*** kinda signing is that?! And why is that guy still in the league?!
1st Ammendment NoMas Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 EJ is a great kid and I wish him the best. It's unfortunate that he wasn't able to live up to expectations, but if he can grab a paycheck from any team he is truly blessed. He'll make more in a year sitting around than most people make busting ass for ten years.

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Oh my god...does this mean? It's finally over? For good? I knew this day would come, but I couldn't actually picture in my mind how wonderful it would be. No more EJ threads! The last 4 years felt like 30 but thank god it's over. See ya bud.
Royale with Cheese Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Just texted my Raiders fan friend. Â Me: Raiders just signed EJ Manuel. Him: What the f*** kinda signing is that?! And why is that guy still in the league?! I take it that your friend isn't Doug Whaley...
Hapless Bills Fan Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Former Bills' first-round pick E.J. Manuel likely is signing with the Oakland Raiders, per league sources. Â I thought no one was interested in him?
Buffalo86 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I take it that your friend isn't Doug Whaley... Â Whaley's wife said he couldn't come to the phone, but I think I heard him sobbing in the background.
thebandit27 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I'll always appreciate how hard he worked and that he kept a good attitude. Â Too bad he simply wasn't an NFL QB. Â Best of luck to you, EJ.
Pirate Angel Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I wish him luck..Stand up guy just wasn't good enough...Wouldn't surprise me if he didn't make it to the regular season though
HOF4LOU Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 (edited) Good for EJ - he was always a team player and always maintained a great attitude. Edited March 17, 2017 by HOF4LOU
ndirish1978 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Wish this kid the best. Hope he can turn in to a solid backup.
dgrochester55 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I'm not surprised, every first round QB not named JaMarcus Russell who doesnt work out with the team that drafted them, always gets a second chance. Hope he does well in life, but I also hope he is starting ifOakland plays Buffalo next year. We need all the help that we can get.
