Nothing really shocking here. NK has wanted a formal peace treaty and normalized relations with the US for decades - they want to be seen as equals in the eyes of the world.

Their nuclear/missile programs have always been about getting the US to negotiate peace directly with their regime.

What a diplomatic coup it is to get the president of the US to come to him. Raises the crazy NK leader in stature in the world and has to give up nothing to get this meeting. What a joke this president is

Ending the longest war in US history makes Trump a joke to some.

Then again, those same people love laughing at the deaths of American servicemen. So no wonder he's against a peaceful end to one of the more dangerous hotspots in the world.

Partisanship trumps country yet again for the left.

True.

Nothing shocking but the speed in which this is coming out.

I maintain the deal is already done, that Trump and KJU have already met (during his Asia trip - went unreported). This meeting will be ceremonial rather than  negotiations (if I'm right) and we'll have a major deal in place within a week or two of the meeting in May.

By major deal I mean: denuclearization of the DPRK, a peace treaty ending the Korean War, the release of all prisoners and steps towards a reintegration of the peninsula over a period of time.

Left for the past 12 months on DPRK: "We need diplomacy but Trump wants war!"

Trump today: "We're making diplomatic breakthroughs!"

Left today: "Diplomacy is dangerous!"

Barry told The Donald that NK/KJU kept him up at nights.  But then when Trump went hard after NK, the libs (since their policy is "the enemy of my enemy is my friend") decided that NK wasn't so bad (just look at that Lester Holt joke of a report from that fake mall in NK for proof of that) and that we needed moderated tone and diplomacy.  Now that we're getting that, it's "we're legitimizing KJU!  What a joke Trump is!"

North Korea peace talks a mere smokescreen to Stormy Daniels truthers
by Charles Hurt

Original Article

If brokering peace on the Korean Peninsula is just a diversionary tactic to draw attention away from Stormy Daniels, then somebody please get this president six more porn stars. One for Syria, one for Sudan, one for Ukraine and three for the Middle East. Oh, and one for Chicago.

This line of inquiry — taken quite seriously on the cable waves of the once-mainstream media — reveals just how desperately unhinged the media has become in this Age of Trump. It strains the imagination to think that the governments of North and South Korea have conspired with President Trump to concoct disarmament talks at this precise moment in hopes of deflecting attention away from a bouncing beachball of a porn star who claims to have had an extramarital affair with Mr. Trump.

Yep, now he's colluding with the Chinese to alter the affairs of N Korea.  We can't suffer this.  Who will stop him!?

He's already closer to ending the Korean War than anyone's come in 65 years.  I don't think it will, but this has the potential to develop into something Nobel Prize-worthy.

Hell, it's already more worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize than Obama was for his.

Not before it's too late.  All the damage is being done.  Doesn't he see this?  What's taking him so long?
