Agent 91 Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Welcome back LoRax! Putting together a team with GREAT character guys. We have heard that before
Domdab99 Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 So Rex destroyed the defense EXCEPT Alexander, who had a career year expressly because of Rex's system. I don't buy it. I'm sure Alex. will regress a little, but you can't say he was the only beneficiary of a certain system on a poor defense.

Was all over the place making plays.
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 So only one guy was the beneficiary of Rex's defense?no, every opposing QB was also a beneficiary of it
ALF Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 MVP defense at Pro Bowl , guy doesn't slack off , great example for teammates.
HoofHearted Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 As long as he's blitzing/rushing the passer 75-80% of the time then I think he will be fine, so that's good. If he's playing Sam it won't be anywhere close to that. If you say so. According to Trapasso the SLB spot in Derm's D is a sort of blitzing SLB / DE role. It's not. Mario Addision (who he referred to in his post) played as a hand in the dirt DE all year long.
Call_Of_Ktulu Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 He's a hard worker and has a non stop motor but I just don't see him having success translating to a 4-3. I don't think DE fits his skill set and I can't see him playing OLB in a 4-3. In a 4-3 he seems like a better fit as a DT for 3rd down passing situations.

He should be used at SLB and DE in 3rd down packages. But we really don't know what McDermott is thinking. Happy he is back tough.
H2o Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I don't really mind this re-signing because he was a beast on ST's as well as good for the defense.
John from Riverside Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 If nothing else he plays with an edge Love how he got chippy with that TE in the pro bowl
H2o Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 If nothing else he plays with an edge Love how he got chippy with that TE in the pro bowl That he does. People talk about his numbers tailing off, but I think he was truly hampered by the hamstring.
BillsfaninMyrtleBeach Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Glad to see him back. Good player, good locker room guy and gives 110%. Now if we only could find a way to get Zack back too! Hmmmmm.
Dopey Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 no, every opposing QB was also a beneficiary of it Don't forget those opposing 200 yard rushers
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Don't forget those opposing 200 yard rushers Lets not diminish his efforts and blame Lorax for the run defense. He was one of the highlights of the 2016 defense. from the Buffalo news http://buffalonews.com/2017/03/11/lorenzo-alexander-no-worries-hell-fit-new-defense/ Alexander came into 2016 with 9 career sacks, but blew that away in his 10th full season, finishing with 76 tackles, 12.5 sacks, six passes defended, three forced fumbles and one interception.
YoloinOhio Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 @hbalzer721 Lorenzo Alexander 2-year contract originally reported worth $9M. Actually, value is $5.95M plus has max of $2.1M incentives.
YoloinOhio Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 (edited) Lorenzo Alexander contract numbers show a big win for Buffalo Bills http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/3/23/15034020/lorenzo-alexander-contract-numbers-buffalo-bills-2017-nfl-free-agency?utm_campaign=buffalorumblings&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter Edited March 23, 2017 by YoloinOhio
KGun12TD Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 I love this so much! I truly believe this team will surprise people this year! Under Rex, we totally underachieve in a big way. There is a lot of talent on this roster to win 9 games IMHO. Go Bills.
