Jasovon Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Sure he was bad in NO but who isn't on that defense. We desperately need safety help now after releasing both of ours and while I want one in the draft if booker is gone by 10 we could be in trouble. I always loved Byrd and I think Sean can get him back to pro bowl form
Niagara Bill Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Byrd is a smart player who is a ball hawk, but poor in every other aspects of his game. A bad tackler, not particularly brave and quite selfish all aspects that do not support team play. Also being on the same team as coach Byrd would undermine the dressing room.

I'd forgotten we had coach Byrd now. Fair point

Patrick Duffy Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Nah, rather go with someone younger and more reliable. Bringing Byrd back in at this point would be silly.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 I would rather go with someone that I didn't despise.
Coach Tuesday Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 I would rather go with someone that I didn't despise. I see you've never been married.
Fixxxer Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 I didn't want to paid him when he left but if we can add him to this team under a reasonable contract, I'm all for it. He was at his best with the defensive system we're about to run.
zonabb Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Nope. He left seeking big money, got it, sucked, and can go pound salt. If Im the Bills, I don't bring back a guy who arguably could have played and sat instead to protect his FA cash collection scheme. And his old man certainly coached him up there based on his comments. not the kind of player you want on a team.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 They made the right move when they declined to toss any more money his way last time. I expect that continues.

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 I would like to see Byrd back. Was a great player in buffalo. Is a great fit in a soft zone and should have spent his whole career here. It's a position of serious weakness and he can still put fear into a QB while camped out over the top of a zone.
mikemac2001 Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Our run defense suffered because of him and same thing happened in New Orleans
Green Lightning Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Not a fan. Bad in the box and a step slow in centerfield.
Mr. WEO Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 You mean "bring back the bring back Byrd thread"?
HaZe716 Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 If we can get him relatively cheap, why not? We need DBs ladies and gents. We have Ron Darby and Hyde as legit starters as of now. That's it. At this point, Byrd coming in and playing center field for us would not be a bad thing. Just depends on the money.
