Deranged Rhino Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I knew that. But only because, from all appearances, I married a female dragonfly.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted July 4, 2017 Author Posted July 4, 2017 Today I learned that when Andre the Giant would go drinking in Manhatten, the NYPD would have an officer follow him around town to make sure he didn't drunkenly fall on anyone again. CBF

Augie Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 I knew that. Andre was an alcohol-consuming machine. But......he made a beer look so tiny!

Canadian Bills Fan Posted July 5, 2017 Author Posted July 5, 2017 TIL that in 1923, Frank Hayes became the first ever jockey to win a horse race despite being dead. He died from a heart attack mid-race but somehow his body stayed strapped onto the horse and he crossed the finish line in first place, beating 20-1 odds. CBF

Canadian Bills Fan Posted July 5, 2017 Author Posted July 5, 2017 "First ever?" How many more have since? You didn't know that!!! CBF
DC Tom Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 You didn't know that!!! CBF Of course I do. It was a rhetorical question, intended to encourage your continuing education.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Hayes apparently died somewhere in the middle of the race, but his body remained in the saddle throughout. Sweet Kiss eventually crossed the finish line, winning by a head with Hayes technically still atop her back, making him the first, and thus far only, jockey known to have won a race after death
Canadian Bills Fan Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 TIL the inventor of the fidget spinner surrendered the patent in 2005 because she could not afford the $400 fee to renew the patent CBF

DC Tom Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 TIL that the day after 9-11, the Queen broke a 200 year old tradition and ordered the US National Anthem to be played during the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. CBF Not only did I know that, but I don't know how anyone didn't know that, particularly a citizen of the commonwealth. This post actually made me gain respect for you, just because I didn't have enough to lose before I read it.

Sounds like someone needs a refresher course on the definition of "TODAY I LEARNED."
ExiledInIllinois Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Sounds like someone needs a refresher course on the definition of "TODAY I LEARNED." You are so one dimensional. He could be using "I" in: Today I Learned as "I the reader" vs. "I the original poster." In which case, you obviously didn't know that.
