WGBillsFan Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 If he signs with another team, see what the offer is and decide if it is worth matching it or not!
Woodman19 Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 The trading team will only take on his salary of $4mil. if teams are unwilling to give a mid round pick for Romo (more productive at far greater cap hit) than I definitely don't think an old center gets you anything.
BillsVet Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 We must be doing so badly in talent evaluation for other teams wanting to come in and try to take our players Show me a UDFA or later round (4th-7th) pick starting on this team from 2010-2016. Castillo must have really advocated for Vlad. Let's double down and make Castillo the DCoord. Then we'll really be cooking with gas.
GG Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 if teams are unwilling to give a mid round pick for Romo (more productive at far greater cap hit) than I definitely don't think an old center gets you anything. I don't see the comparison, Romo has 3 yrs left at an average of $18mil/season, Wood has a 1-yr hit of $4 mil, which would easily be renegotiated because the new team won't be saddled with the dead cap.
baskingridgebillsfan Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 I will have to be proved wrong on the val signing . He was a disaster with the Jets. as for Groy with Woods having a few major injuries in his a career and Richie at an age when things can fall off the wheels , not saying they will, having a strong back up would be wise. Even if is cost more then you would like
Best Player Available Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 They simply cannot lose this kid. Also, no reason too cut Wood. He can play guard if needed, and bailed some of the scrubs playing guard during his run here pulling and doing there job. He is a very good center.

Best Player Available Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Pats are one of the teams Of course the Bills are now there farm team.
GG Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 so given the choice for taking a declining player for 1 year at $4 million or drafting a player who is likely improving for $1 million for 4 years, what do you think most teams would pick? What in the world are you talking about? Boyst said to trade Wood for mid round pick AFTER Bills match Groy's offer.
Woodman19 Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 What in the world are you talking about? Boyst said to trade Wood for mid round pick AFTER Bills match Groy's offer. I'm just pointing out that he wouldn't get a pick back, teams would just wait for him to be cut.
GG Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 I'm just pointing out that he wouldn't get a pick back, teams would just wait for him to be cut. Which is not what you said. Salary cap is not a consideration for teams who may be interested in Wood
BrooklynBills Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 They also could use whatever contract Groy signs(since we can match it) as means to get Wood to restructure/take a pay cut. Wood is older and coming off another leg injury. I think the smarter play is to keep Groy and let Wood go.
BillsFan4 Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Man that would stink if he for signed away from the Bills and we got nothing for him. He was surprisingly good filling in for Wood last year. I hope we don't lose him.
gjv001 Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Picking up Ducasse and losing Groy would seem like another downgrade to our roster.
MarkyMannn Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 he is. But bang for buck I want groy. We can trade wood for even a 4th to a team in need at OL or lb depth Wood is near the end of his career, Groy beginning. Cut Wood keep Groy
uticaclub Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Center is not that important with a QB like Tyrod. Defenses send less pressure up the middle, because if they do Tyrod can escape and hurt them with his legs. Defenses will keep spies and send pressure from the edges and make Tyrod play like a QB
Buffalo Barbarian Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 @caplannfl #Bills RFA G Ryan Groy has drawn interest from at least 4 teams, sources said. A few of them said they think he could come in and start. great we lose him and sign Ducasse, good job duggy
Doc Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 great we lose him and sign Ducasse, good job duggy We did?
