DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 So is Whaley (or whoever makes the free agency decisions around there) going to try to at least sign another corner in FA? they'll get there guy in the draft...?
Rodrigo Borgia Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Looks like we have a lot of new Patriots fans around here this morning...
Elite Poster Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 You know what's worth a lot of money? A young, talented man corner the consistently holds big time WR in check. Here in Buffalo we make sure we sign as many 40 year old defensive linemen as possible. Fans are totally supportive of this, mind you.
T master Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 TURN COAT ! I hope he plays as bad for them as he did for the Bills !!
CommonCents Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I did say that. Does Bellichick get the most out of his roster? Yes or no? He won a championship and is what 31/32 in spending actual money? Hell yes he gets the most out of nothing, that would be a foolish debate. Patriots contacted Gilmore this morning and made the decision this morning according to all local reports. Did someone offer the first rounder and big bucks for Butler? Did Butler get pissed about the tender, he has made peanuts so far in a very productive career. They haven't had talks recently then slapped the tender on him. So ultimately Butler is gone, probably after this year but hopefully sooner. Good for Butler if he made a stand to the organization and told them to stick it after the tender.
JohnC Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Very few... a vocal minority if you will Do you see the irony here? A championship team with an immensely better roster has the cap space to bring in a good player. A persistently losing franchise with a less talented roster can't afford to keep a good player because it is in a tight cap situation. Which organization is better managed? No one can deny that the Pats are the gold standard in this league.

Bray Wyatt Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Isnt that a fake Schefter account? I thought Adam had a "c" in his last name
Beast Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I really don't understand the snark comments....were any of you expecting the bills to pay 14 mill per to a CB? Would that have put us over the top? The answer is no and would have been wasted money.....the pats have a ton of cap space and the championship aura surrounds them. Stop acting butt hurt...it sucks because they got better...but what could we do. Move on. There is nothing we could have done as fans.....there is a lot Whaley and crew could have done. Like manage the cap better. How many first round CB's does this make that have walked away from the team after their rookie deal expires?
TSOL Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 He has to pay someone. They are required to spend a certain amount to the cap.... and they are loaded with cap space. The fact that they are loaded with cap space after winning the Superbowl just further proves BB's ability to evaluate talent. If BB is willing to give Gilmore top 5 CB monet, thats good enough for me.
BrooklynBills Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Perfect guy for them. Better than Ryan or Butler or anyone they would be able to draft. Ryan is a ufa and wanted to get paid. He will cover other team's number 2 WRs 1-1 and they will double the #1s

Bray Wyatt Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 @RapSheet The #Patriots deal for free agent CB Stephon Gilmore will happen, source said. Huge signing. Ok there is a real one then, damn.

How many first round CB's does this make that have walked away from the team after their rookie deal expires? If a group of fans were in charge, instead of Whaley, would they do a better job at managing the cap?
Blokestradamus Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Don't be that guy tweeting threats and abuse at him.

How's that 2013 draft class looking Doug?

No one can deny that the Pats are the gold standard in this league. Having a QB that can win with players that would be average on other teams allows them to keep alot of cap room. If someone wants too much money, they let them leave and replace them with another average player with a modest salary who then becomes better than average due to Brady. And then they can make the occasional big move like Gilmore.
YoloinOhio Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Any idea what the contract is? 14 mill/yr+ is the report
