4_kidd_4 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Huh, I just assumed all the 90's guys had carte blanch over at OBD, what with that era being all that we really have. Rumor has is Kurt Schulz still lives in a beer kiosk near the tunnel end...
cd1 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 from the Buffalo New Link mentioned above... "The Buffalo News contacted the Bills for a response, and the team issued the following statement from a spokesman: "Steve Christie is a valuable member of our alumni community and we appreciate all that he has done for this organization. He is the Bills' all-time leading scorer and the top field-goal kicker in team history. We appreciated his offer to assist Dan and that was communicated to him. But we all just felt it was in the best interests to have Dan continue his working relationship with the coaches."

And Rex seemed to like have old-timers around. So my guess is that Danny Crossman was worried that Christie's coaching would not line up with his own. And then Rex and Doug supported Crossman - which would be the right thing to do. Edited March 7, 2017 by hondo in seattle
Malazan Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 IT said Whaley told him "HE" wouldn't be receptive...that seems to indicate Carpenter wouldn't be receptive.
nucci Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Nine pages? Really people?? I know.....just waiting for FA to start....brutal
Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Nine pages? Really people?? Seriously. Who even cares about this? Yet here I am posting again in this thread...
Wayne Arnold Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Levy waxing poetically while the franchise burned under his general managerial ineptness wasn't embarrassing to the franchise at all, I suppose... Levy wasn't GM nearly long enough to burn the franchise. Talk about exaggeration. Seriously. Who even cares about this? Yet here I am posting again in this thread... I care. It's one more indication that our GM is laughably incompetent.

nucci Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I care. It's one more indication that our GM is laughably incompetent. Because of reports that a former K wanted to help the recently released K? Brilliant

Because of reports that a former K wanted to help the recently released K? Brilliant These aren't reports. They're statements directly from Christie himself. You don't understand the difference? lol
nucci Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Are you insinuating that Steve Christie is lying? These aren't reports. They're statements directly from Christie himself. You don't understand the difference? lol are you really laughing out loud?

Wayne Arnold Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) So if any former player asks to help coach the current team, GM should automatically say yes? Not just any player but the all-time leader in points should be on the shortlist. It's about honoring the past by maintaining healthy relationships with those who contributed to the franchise.
