Oh don't worry. The next kicker will have just as many apologists.

You're right. New policy. Miss a kick, you're cut. Every time. Practice, game, I don't care. We need some accountability around here, and we don't have it unless kickers are getting cut.

That said, there aren't any numbers that led me to believe Carpenter should have stayed.

The CB depth in the 2017 draft runs deep, so the Bills must think they can find a suitable replacement for NRC.

Not saying Robey was great, but I find it hard to believe with our CB position as bad as it is that we can replace him with a FA that plays as well as he did for under 1.5 Million dollars. Seems like yet another wtf action by the Bills management.

Yeah, I read that the draft is rich in CB talent. No need for a costly FA CB... the draft can bring someone in.

Just like Kevon Seymour!

Maybe you're right, but is NRC a franchise slot corner? I don't see him leading us to a Super Bowl, so better to just get rid of him now.

He is a top 5 slot corner for sure. I don't know if you can be a franchise slot corner. Nevertheless we won't get anyone even close for 3 mil cap hit or whatever it was.

For the record, DC departs as the Bills 6th all-time leading scorer.

Accuracy leader as well, right?

Wish i felt better about his time in Buffalo.

Luckily we have a great replacement that we drafted a few years ago. I believe he's ready to be successful for the Bills: Dustin Hopkins

Say hello to Captain Munnerlyn.

To hell with a captain, we need at least a major if not a colonel.

You know that Sanborn will be signed by the patriots* and get a ring this year

Don't like the move to cut NRC. Don't have a ton of quality depth at CB, and don't like the idea of adding through the draft as we need safety's and WR's also.

As far as Carp. I know he had a less than stellar past 2 years. Not sure there is anyone currently available that is any better, unless you draft someone. Again, don't have a ton of picks and a lot of needs. Must be planning on being very active in FA.

NRC got benched last year. Some relevant stats

Gronk vs. Bills:

Landry vs. Bills

Decker vs. Bills

He was great in hand to hand combat and one on one coverage and a really good playmaker....but he left us exposed a lot.

McDermott is a Johnson disciple -- get pressure quickly with the front 7 so corners don't have to cover long. He likes taller corners. I loved Robey but this is $1.5M in cap room the Bills can really use.

Carp was great 2 years ago -- automatic. But the last two years have been tough.

These aren't bad decisions in my opinion.

WTF would they release Coleman? All that dude did was make plays...strange decision...maybe he doesn't fit what they are looking to do...you could see Carpenter coming from a mile away tho...

A LOT of missed takles, see similar post re: NRC.
