billieve420 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I think he is a dark horse candidate for the Bills at #10. It would be unexpected as most people are projecting him as a late 1st/early 2nd rd draft pick.
Elite Poster Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 He's an athlete. You know who else was an athlete, Mayhem Maybin.
gr8billsfan Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 He's a skilled athlete without a doubt. However, I've seen him make too many hesitations while playing Safety. If anything he would be a great LB. The fact that he doesn't have enough support at any position is worrisome. No maybin 2.0.
Maury Ballstein Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Because he gets cooked by college players often.
4merper4mer Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 He's an athlete. You know who else was an athlete, Mayhem Maybin. Are all athletes bad?
Royale with Cheese Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Probably because he doesn't have a true position and correct me if I'm wrong....one turnover and I think zero forced fumbles in his career.
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I think the concern is about the fact that he seems to be a "tweener" between a WLB and a box safety, and that he might struggle in zone coverage. That said, if that's the way that McD wants to build the defense I am ok with it. We keep hearing about being a "passing league", so running with 3 safeties all the time doesn't bother me.
K D Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 They said the same stuff about Honey Badger and now he's one of the top dbacks in the NFL
Billsfansinceday1 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I see that Kiper has him being picked by the Bills at #10. I don't really see that happening but OBD may see things very differently. We will know in 1 week.
Elite Poster Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 (edited) Are all athletes bad?Athletes without a position*.They said the same stuff about Honey Badger and now he's one of the top dbacks in the NFLTheir stats are vastly different: 1 int and 1 pass defended last year. That's not what a db does. Edited April 20, 2017 by Elite Poster
oldmanfan Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 He's an athlete. You know who else was an athlete, Mayhem Maybin. They should have tried Maybin at SS.
BILLiever55 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 They said the same stuff about Honey Badger and now he's one of the top dbacks in the NFL If I remember right, the knock on Honey Badger was that he was a knucklehead. I don't recall people questioning his on-field ability.
K D Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 If I remember right, the knock on Honey Badger was that he was a knucklehead. I don't recall people questioning his on-field ability. That's true but they also said he wasn't a safety he's just a good athlete and he doesn't have a position. When all you do is make plays it doesn't matter where they put you
GunnerBill Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Plenty of talk about Peppers across the other threads. Kirby and I discussed him yesterday.... in the non QBs to avoid at 10 thread.
Kirby Jackson Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Plenty of talk about Peppers across the other threads. Kirby and I discussed him yesterday.... in the non QBs to avoid at 10 thread. I am listening to Mike & Mike now and Kiper just doubled down. They asked him 3 prospects that you'd bet your mortgage will be stars and Mel chose Peppers as one. He is so desperate to be right about him. I'm going to try to tweet Kiper to bet his house.
Kirby Jackson Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 They said the same stuff about Honey Badger and now he's one of the top dbacks in the NFLNo they didn't say the same things. The Honey Bager had 6 sacks, 4 INTs, 8 FR and 11 forced fumbles as a freshman and sophomore!! That's how he got the nickname because "he takes what he wants." He was as good a college player as I've maybe ever seen. He was the ULTIMATE playmaker. http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/tyrann-mathieu-1.html By comparison Peppers has 1 INt, 3 sacks, no forced fumbles and no fumble recoveries. http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/jabrill-peppers-1.html There is absolutely nothing similar about Peppers and the Honey Badger coming out. I don't get worked up often here but comparing Peppers to Mathieu will do that.

Honey Badger was such a great player and playmaker that teams were still willing to take a chance on him even though he had massive off the field problems.
