26CornerBlitz Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 (edited) @AdamSchefter And now the Jets are releasing WR Brandon Marshall, per sources. Edited March 8, 2017 by 26CornerBlitz
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Definitely worth a look. It would really depend on the price tag. We do desperately need help at the WR position, and it's not easy for young WR's to step in immediately.
Roundybout Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Interesting. Still has a few good years left. He's a bit of a head case, but man could we use receivers!
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Be a great pick up. Unfortunately I don't think he'd be interested in coming here. Does Marshall really have that much leverage at this point in his career? If the price is right I don't see him necessarily turning it down.
JohnBonhamRocks Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Brandon Marshall and Rick Dennison were both Broncos 2006-2009...
B-Man Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Brandon Marshall and Rick Dennison were both Broncos 2006-2009... Good point

If the price is right I don't see him necessarily turning it down.he asked for his release. He said the Jets offered him an extension and he wanted out. Team going younger. Also today Bowles said Sackenberg and Petty would be competing for the starting job. That's enough to make him bolt. Edited March 3, 2017 by YoloinOhio
WGBillsFan Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Interesting and worth looking into....depending on the price tag of course!
Meazy26 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Gotta think he's going to a contender. Has the guy even made the playoffs yet in his career?
Rockpile233 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 They should kick the tires on any FA WR they can bring in. It's a glaring need whether it's a high draft priority or not. A veteran presence would be nice.
YoloinOhio Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Gotta think he's going to a contender. Has the guy even made the playoffs yet in his career?nope. 11 seasons, no playoffs.
LI_Bills Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 I understand the appeal, he's only a year removed from a huge year and he's been a beast in the past. But this past year I saw him drop a ton of passes, he's a bit of a head case and I don't think he's ever been the #2 receiver which would concern me. I'm also pretty sure that he's never sniffed the playoffs so probably not a great fit despite the talent
LI_Bills Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Gotta think he's going to a contender. Has the guy even made the playoffs yet in his career? If he has his way, you're right: “I’m tired of watching the playoffs on my couch,” he said in January. “It’s been a frustrating year. It’s been a frustrating career.” http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/jets-granting-brandon-marshall-his-release-source-says-1.13202408

JohnBonhamRocks Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Sign Marshall to an affordable contract and then get DeSean Jackson, who said in the Fall he misses playing with McCoy, for $1-2M less than Woods would cost.
Coach Tuesday Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Sign Marshall to an affordable contract and then get DeSean Jackson, who said in the Fall he misses playing with McCoy, for $1-2M less than Woods would cost. Yeah, none of that is happening.
Negan Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Yeah, none of that is happening. Even in madden this wouldn't be possible
JohnBonhamRocks Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 ^ You're both probably right. We could feasibly sign one of them though. And it would be super easy to do in Madden. Actually, if they drop Taylor and go with a rookie QB it is doable in real life.
