4merper4mer Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 mildly surprised and happy to see you guys dont like hannity either. youre not right wingers but you mostly seem like right from center folks so i guess it makes sense funny bc to me sean was mostly cartoon material on his colmes shows. he sort of had to be, the country had lurched right after 9/11 and was still deeply probing their old conservative philosophies. sean had to be outrageous to get any traction in that political debate world and keep his job now that the country figured out why they left far right conservatism in the first place, we have lurched left. now i find sean making way way way more great, realistic, logical points than ever before. hes still spits out that old crap sometimes, probably on purpose, but hes so much more listenable at times than he ever was before imo the pendulum swings back and forth, crashing against each wall each time, while we look around and wonder why we are bleeding. aaa-gain First and foremost for this thread RIP to Colmes who seemed like a decent and likable person. Secondly, I'm surprised that you're surprised that most people here see that Hannity is a moron. It isn't too hard to figure out. He could screw up an argument even if 100% of the facts were on his side. Finally, your analysis of the political atmosphere in the post above makes me think Hannity could easily mop the floor with you in an argument.

Wow, what a bitter, spiteful, hit piece that was. Not to mention extremely disrespectful toward the recently departed. At least Colmes understood that you'll never convince anyone of anything unless you can establish a dialogue first. Hacks like this Chotiner clown will never understand that, and will therefore continue to marginalize themselves.
IDBillzFan Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Wow, what a bitter, spiteful, hit piece that was. It doesn't matter. Slate got what it wanted. Clicks.
Nanker Posted February 24, 2017 Author Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) Not from me it didn't. I trust B-Man and Azalin's takes. Edited February 24, 2017 by Nanker
IDBillzFan Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Not from me it didn't. I trust B-Man and Azalin's takes. No. I'm talking about the countless leftists who will link it in their social media accounts...and then having it linked from there. Outrageous stupidity is very profitable right now. I saw a Daily News op-ed making the rounds after Beyonce at the Grammys, titled something like "Having a child isn't a miracle and doesn't make you special." It was begging to be clicked.
Dr.Sack Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 agreed. his superior arguments flied under what was at the time extreme radar of course also at that time a monkey could make better arguments than the hannity of that era. he pushed the extreme bc thats the red meat a ton of ppl wanted at that time that eras oreilly is a slightly less shrill verson. havent listened to oreilly in forever but i bet i would find him somewhat more moderate now, for the same reason The country has moved in a populist direction, look at who drew crowds in 2016, and I'm not talking about half filled high school gymnasiums where incrementalism & maintain the status quo was preached. It would have been a much better show if it was Sanders vs Trump. Colmes vs Hannity, didn't get the respect it deserved. It's what drew me towards Fox. Highly entertaining and relevant.
Meathead Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 yeah i guess thats correct. we lurched right after 9/11 to assuage our fear, we lurched left under obama, and this cycle was a populist shift, but with two different versions of populism - libertarian and nationalism if it was actually sanders vs trump we never would have had this disaster presidency. or if hillary hadnt cheated
Nanker Posted February 25, 2017 Author Posted February 25, 2017 Earth to leftists: Sanders is not a "libertarian ". He's a SOCIALIST. There is a huge difference. And Che Guevera was a sociopathic murderer and a complete wad of scum.
Meathead Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 sorry yes, of course youre right. i was half asleep when i typed that. and im not a leftist
IDBillzFan Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 sorry yes, of course youre right. i was half asleep when i typed that. and im not a leftist Are you that special breed of not-a-leftist who promotes leftist ideologies with every mis-typed word while insisting you're not a leftist? I think there's a name for that. Oh, yeah. You're a baskinist.
meazza Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 sorry yes, of course youre right. i was half asleep when i typed that. and im not a leftist You know who else was not a leftist who used to type half asleep?
4merper4mer Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 You know who else was not a leftist who used to type half asleep? Stalin?

We lurched left. Big Government statism is left. George W. Bush was a liberal Republican.
Meathead Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 yeah, after we lurched right the pendulum has been very busy
