I just gleaned this one joke from a Teabagger having a media conspiracy meltdown:

"Lunch With The Pope:

President Trump invited the Pope for lunch on his mega yacht. The Pope accepted, and during lunch a puff of wind blew the Pontiff's hat off, right into the water.

It floated off about 50 feet, then the wind died down and it just floated in place.

The crew and the secret service were scrambling to launch a boat to go get it, when Trump waved them off, saying "Never mind, boys, I'll get it."

The Donald climbed over the side of the yacht, walked on the water to the hat, picked it up, walked back on the water, climbed into the yacht, and handed the Pope his hat.

The crew was speechless. The security team and the Pope's entourage were speechless.

No one knew what to say, not even the Pope.

But that afternoon, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN all reported: "TRUMP CAN'T SWIM!""

Notice anything missing from this CNN headline about White House fence jumper?

A woman is arrested three times as she tries to see President Trump http://cnn.it/2mI424p

Nice spin with that headline. In case you were wondering why you're behind even MSNBC in the ratings, this is a great example.

From CNN to NYT

MORE FAKE NEWS FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES

This lengthy New York Times story is unintentionally hilarious. Here is the headline: “Amid ‘Trump Effect’ Fear, 40% of Colleges See Dip in Foreign Applicants.” Just for fun, a screen shot:

Screen-Shot-2017-03-27-at-2.34.35-PM.png

Note that the headline doesn’t say there has been a 40% drop in foreign applications, but rather that 40% of institutions have seen a drop. Meaning that 60% haven’t.

But the article is all about how Donald Trump is devastating higher education. E.g.:

“I’d say the rhetoric and actual executive orders are definitely having a chilling effect,” Mr. Wiewel wrote, referring to the Trump administration’s travel ban.

Like many universities across the country, the Oregon university is getting fewer international applications.

Graduate schools appear to be feeling the worst pinch, with nearly half reporting drops. “Our deans describe it as a chilling effect,” said Suzanne Ortega, president of the Council of Graduate Schools.

For several graduate schools, the Trump administration’s travel ban, which initially affected seven predominantly Muslim countries, could not have been more poorly timed.

And so on, endlessly. But here’s the point: if you look at the survey the Times article is based on, this is what you find:

39% of responding institutions reported a decline in international applications, 35% reported an increase, and 26% reported no change in applicant numbers.

That’s right: the Times headline equally well could have read, “Thanks to President Trump, 35% of Colleges See Increase in Foreign Applicants.”

The Times long ago gave up on being a respectable newspaper. It is now, purely and simply, an organ of the Democratic Party.

Why does anyone care about poll #s after an election (or before an election in the most recent case)? Does he have to resign if his poll #s are too low? Reminds me of the idiots who always blather about someone not having a 'mandate' because they didn't win by enough. Guess what? Winning is the !@#$ing mandate!

THIS IS CNN: Trump moves agenda forward even as Russia controversy swirls.

WHAT WE MEAN when we talk about media bias:

Issie Lapowsky at
Wired
has an interesting piece on Ro Khanna’s proposal to radically expand the earned-income tax credit. Lapowsky writes that this will be difficult to do, because “the Trump administration is gutting the federal budget.” Setting aside the fact that tax laws are written by Congress and not by the White House, the Trump administration’s budget proposal contains a 1.2 percent spending cut to the discretionary budget, i.e. a 1.2 percent cut to a portion of the budget that amounts to less than one-third of federal spending.

A 1.2 percent cut to 29 percent of federal spending is not “gutting the federal budget” under any plausible interpretation of those words by a reasonably literate English-speaking person.

Sorry guys. Fox News still takes the case with their propaganda. Only they would compare the beginning of '09 with the beginning of '17 without realizing they're complimenting Obama. This chart is hilarious and reminds me of Rachel Maddow releasing Trump's '05 tax returns.
