MSNBC’s Richard Stengel tells MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace that ‘the First Amendment doesn’t protect false speech’ [video]

We give journalists a pretty hard time around here, but it’s not really fair. After all, not only are the valuable purveyors of Real News, but they’re constitutional scholars as well.

Case in point, MSNBC political analyst Richard Stengel:

I’ll check but I don’t remember seeing that attached to the 1st amendment......

I wish Tom was here to comment on that one.

YOU’RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER BLOG: Stupidity in the New York Times.

I disagree with Farhad Manjoo about many things, but it is rare for me to read his column and think it stupid. His column in the New York Times today is irredeemably stupid.

It argues that government should simply ‘abolish’ billionaires because — here’s the level of thinking at play — ‘billionaires are bad’… Any time your best thinking tells you that the best solution to a social problem is the elimination of a class of people, it’s time to have another cup of coffee and think a little harder.”

Flashback: “Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim has become the largest shareholder of New York Times Co (NYT.N) after exercising warrants to double his stake in the publisher to 16.8 percent.”

Very important NYT opinion columnist Farhad Manjoo just wants to know ‘what is the point of billionaires’ … can anyone help him out?

What I got out of that more than anything is that Google needs to prioritize their search results to factual results.  Who at Google will be deeming content factual or not?

Guess who repeated this half-truth on the news this morning, as they were discussing the story about Biden's "cavalier" line?   Guess whose words got more airtime?

On Friday, Joe Biden ended an interview with “The Breakfast Club” by saying “you got more questions, but I’ll tell you if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” The Biden campaign attempted to spin the comment (with help from the media of course) before Joe ended up apologizing.

Washington Post opinion writer Paul Waldman writes that Biden’s comment “made his allies cringe and gave his opponents the opportunity for fake outrage.” But fortunately, nobody is expected to have to think for themselves when it comes to this issue:

WaPo not even hiding it anymore — “how to think” — are you kidding me?

What would people do without The Great Explainers in media and their dizzying spin?

AMAZON HITS BACK AT JOE BIDEN FOR SAYING THE COMPANY DOESN’T PAY ITS FAIR SHARE IN TAXES.

On the other hand, don’t get too excited:

In 2009, at the dawn of the Obama era, the Washington Post declared (though then subsidiary publication Newsweek), “We Are All Socialists Now,”

and despite the new ownership under Bezos, his writers still think that AOC’s Green Nude Eel doesn’t go anywhere near far enough in destroying capitalism.

Chris Wallace just said Biden's comments Friday about black people voting for Trump as overblown. In an earlier segment he essentially gave Sugar Nipples  a pass on all the deaths he is responsible for in nursing homes.

I dont even know why I bother
