Court hands Trump win in sanctuary city fight, says administration can deny grant money By Adam Shaw, Bill Mears | Fox News A federal appeals court on Wednesday handed a major win to the Trump administration in its fight against “sanctuary” jurisdictions, ruling that it can deny grant money to states that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in New York overturned a lower court ruling that stopped the administration’s 2017 move to withhold grant money from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, which dispenses over $250 million a year to state and local criminal justice efforts. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/court-hands-trump-win-in-sanctuary-city-grant 2 1

I feel that the truth suffers, the voters are poorly informed, and people also have the opportunity to tune into whatever they want to hear,” Wright said. “And so, it’s like there’s no upside, or our bosses don’t see an upside in doing the job we’re supposed to do, which is to speak truth to power and hold people accountable.” {snip} Wright continued to admit ABC doesn’t hold Trump accountable nor give him credit for his successful policies. Instead, the network is far more interested in the outrage, investigations, and aspects of backstabbing allegedly happening within the White House. “We don’t hold [Trump] to account. We also don’t give him credit for what things he does do. Again, I think some of that at least in the place that I work and the places like it is that we’ve, with Trump we’re, interested in three things. We’re interested in the outrage of the day, the investigation, and of the palace of intrigue of who’s backstabbing whom. Beyond that, we don’t really cover the guy,” Wright said. This admission isn’t coming from a Trump-sympathizer. In the Project Veritas footage Wright can be heard declaring himself a socialist. When asked if he was a democratic socialist, he responded by saying he’s just a socialist. More at the link: . If the Media spent even a little more time simply reporting the news, and less time 'speaking truth to power' we would all be better off. I don't remember giving David Wright, or anyone else at ABC the authority to speak truth. Geez what a bunch of egotistical blowhards!

B-Man Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Despite a hostile press, Trump’s coronavirus press conference hit the right notes by Andrea Widburg Original Article President Trump held a press conference on Wednesday to discuss coronavirus. Although many in the assembled press wanted to play “gotcha,” Trump struck a great balance between relaxed and serious and refused to play the media’s game. It was the perfect mien to reassure a nation that, while nothing serious is happening now, our federal government will be there should the situation change. Trump explained that Vice President Mike Pence will henceforth be the point person on the coronavirus issue. When he was Governor in Indiana, Pence dealt with MERS in 2014, so he already has executive experience in managing an infectious disease. .

B-Man Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Democratic Party media are claiming that last night in South Carolina, President Trump said that the coronavirus epidemic is a hoax. Politico headlines: The Telegraph, by no means Britain’s most left-wing newspaper, headlines: The talking point has been taken up by numerous other Democrats: Did Trump actually say the corona virus is a hoax? Of course not. The claim is idiotic. If the president thought the virus is a hoax, why did he do a press conference on it last week, along with various medical personnel? And why did he ban travel to China at the beginning of the outbreak? This is what Trump actually said in South Carolina, according to the New York Post: President Trump jeered Democrats Friday night for criticizing his response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, saying that it was a “new hoax” after a failed attempt to remove him from office over Ukraine. “They tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia — that didn’t work out too well,” Trump told a cheering crowd in South Carolina. “They tried the impeachment hoax. That was a perfect conversation.” “And this is the new hoax,” Trump declared. *** “Let’s get this right: A virus starts in China, makes its way into various countries all around the world, doesn’t spread widely at all in the United States because of the early actions that myself and my administration took against a lot of other wishes. And the Democrats’ single talking point and you see it is that it’s Donald Trump’s fault,” he said. The hoax, obviously, is the Democrats’ unfounded criticism of the Trump administration. Never in American history have we seen such nakedly dishonest criticism of anyone in public life. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/02/is-coronavirus-a-hoax.php 2

B-Man Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Dana Milbank’s claim that Trump called the coronavirus a ‘hoax’ melts BS detectors The deceptiveness of Politico's claim that Trump called the coronavirus "a hoax." I watched the Trump rally last night, so I knew as soon as I saw this that it was a serious distortion. Headline: "Trump rallies his base to treat coronavirus as a ‘hoax.'" {snip} Trump is clearly not calling the virus a hoax. What he's calling a hoax is the political talking point that Trump has been failing to protect the country from the virus! Now, Politico is pushing a hoax hoax — it's putting out a false story about what Trump called a hoax.Trump is certainly not "rall[ying] his base to treat coronavirus as a ‘hoax.'" Trump is rallying his base to believe that he's doing an excellent job of handling the problem and to see the criticism of his work as a hoax. He's not saying they should "treat" the virus as a hoax!
