The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency

Yeah I do. I am talking about the current president. He's a bad guy. I guarantee you he has done far worse.

I know YOU think he's bad because he stopped voting as a Democrat, but as much of an ego-maniacal thin-skinned juvenile nutcase as he is, he simply is no worse an ego-maniacal thin-skinned juvenile nutcase than Hillary or Barry.

He IS Hillary and Barry. There is no denying that.

No. He's his own beast. As were Clinton and Obama. All different. I never thought of Hillary as thin skinned. A liar. Sells herself to the highest bidder. Morally questionable. But not thin skinned. Obama was thin skinned for sure. But he respected the dignity of the presidency (so much that he extended his authority way beyond his Arricle II mandate!).

Trump is a thin skinned 5 year old.

Couldn't disagree more. This is partly what I was talking about earlier in this thread...smart people going to absurd lengths to defend his behavior. I understand your problems with Clinton and Obama, but neither of them (particularly Obama) have ever stooped as low as this person. Not even close. And, I think you know that. It's okay, you hate Hillary Clinton...you hate Barrack Obama...but don't try to pretend that their level of degeneracy is equivalent to Trumps.

I remember all the ridiculous instances where Obama was accused of lowering the level of the presidency for things like not wearing a tie in the oval office...it sounds funny, but right-wing media spent considerable time on this type of thing. They really worked themselves up until they were froathing at the mouth.

And very honestly, my dis-like for him has nothing to do with him voting Repbulican or Democrat. I could care less. I lived in New York City in the 80's, when he started to really become a mainstream figure. He was always a crook and a snake oil salesmen. A bad joke. His crooked business dealings are well chronicled, I am not going to bother to list them, because I have no doubt, that would be met with counter accusations about Clinton, or Obama...blah, blah blah. Its' pointless. I realize, it is still early in his regime...but at some point, as you all cried about Obama, he is going to have to stand on his own merits, not pointing to everyone else, like a child, or re-running his 2016 campaign. I hope he goes after Carly Fiorina's ugly face at his next rally! I loved that! He is just loathsome...

His whole involvement in the "Central Park Five" situation is reflective of the type of person he is. When he is wrong, he only doubles down on it...you can be sure, whenever he attacks somebody for some perceived weakness, he is doing it because he is attempting to hide those weakness in himself. For somebody as wealthy as he is, and as well traveled, he is amazingly un-sophisticated. And, he consistently shows a remarkable lack of empathy...sorry, but I do think that is an important quality in a leader, in a democracy.

And, he just flat out lies about facts. He lies about things that we can all see plain as day.

He may well be. But the list of people he's pissed off makes me quite happy. QUITE happy.

And this is the ugly truth of where we are...we don't give a **** about what is best for our country, only about pissing people off, if we aren't in agreement. And before you go all crazy on that, I am not saying that is exclusive to either side. But this president makes the hope of ever getting back to a level of civil discourse seem like a very far-fetched notion. We can only be happy if our counter-parts on the other side of the political aisle are miserable? Great country...

That's because you discard Benghazi which, as I live today, is one of the lowest points I've personally seen from a president and SoS. Embarrasing, selfish, crude and pathetic. Lied to their freaking faces.

Not to mention, they ALL lie about things we see plain as day. Obama did it on a daily basis. DWS got paid to lie to your face. I'm not sure Hillary wouldn't know the truth if it flew in her face like an inauguration balloon.

My only argument with you about Trump is he is the worst ever. He's a giant asssshole who is out of his league. But he's nowhere NEAR as bad as Hillary and Barry when it comes to their nature as a human being.

Not even close.

Pissing off the media elite and Washington insiders is not hurting the country one little bit.

Yeah, those nasty elitists. Thank goodness we have the heroic, cultural-norms-transcending, selfless champion of noble causes, Donald J. Trump, to stick up for the little guy.

Prioritizing enjoyment of reality TV over love of country. You're a modern patriot.

This country stopped representing what I believe in a LONG time ago. It's now entitlement, big government, and tolerance of one set of views ALL DAY EVERY DAY.

I guess we have far different standards then.

What is funny though, whenever Trump is accused of something, he pretty much confirms the worst with one of his childish tweets, or some off the cuff remark...

Well.......................that is no where near what I said, but if it helps you express your extreme slant on the situation, thats fine.

I am not sure how many times that I (and others here) have to point out that we are aware that Trump is a crude, self-centered buffoon,

that part of this presidency is certainly obvious, but is much less important to Americans outside the beltway.

"Stop defending Trump!"

There's just no discussing it with you.

I might tend to agree with you if he was pissing them off by genuinely challenging them on content. However, your implication (in the context of what we're talking about) is that Trump's twitter hissy fits can be legitimized as this righteous re-balancing of power. It's a nasty tweet about a woman's bleeding face. That's not productive in any way. And I believe that it does "hurt the country."
