They're attempting to make a law that says anyone not releasing their income tax records cannot be on the ballot in CA. The problem with that is that they don't get to write the specs for a federal election.

If a dem was pulling the same *****, you would have your ***** all messed up by your panties in a bunch!

Yes, but they do get to determine how their balloting's done.

It'll be an interesting court case.  One they should lose, but the arguments will be interesting.

The Retweet News Network is closed for the next few hours and Cartoon Network (with occasional stories) will be posting its copyrighted materials shortly.

I encourage all posters who can’t use Twitter or their own news outlets to post 47 Tweets per day and also 19 cartoons here. PPP is your new source.

47 tweets/day * 20 active posters...~1000 tweet-posts a day on PPP. That would be so great. We can do it people.

Follow your leaders.

Isn't Cali already trying to rig their ballots so Trump can't be on it in 2020?

Sounds like a great way to demonstrate the purpose of the Electoral College

Using the 2016 Results (per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_United_States_presidential_election)

National Vote: Clinton 65,853,514, Trump 62,984,828

Electoral Vote: Trump 304, Clinton 227

Trump is not on the ballot in California:

National Vote: Clinton 65,853,514, 58,501,018

Electoral Vote: Trump 304, Clinton 227

But she won the National vote!!!

National vote minus one state where on candidate was blocked from the ballot.  Remove California from the equation:

National Vote: 58,501,018 Trump, Clinton 57,099,726

Electoral Vote: Trump 304, Clinton 172

If the Progressives are successful in eliminating the Electoral College, their next step is to block candidates from ballot access in enough large states

No one will eliminate it but enough states (including some red ones) will soon band together to cast their electoral votes with the winner of the majority vote nationwide, effectively sidestepping it.

and again, all progressives have to next is block ballot access from enough states to mathematically guarantee their desired candidate cannot achieve a plurality.

Your reply doesn't follow mine.

Soon there will be states that number 270 electoral votes that will cast their electoral votes to the winner of the majority vote.

If a candidate wins by one vote nationwide, they will win. Not in 2020, but probably by 2024, assuming no state drops out.

Quote

“[Larry] Lindsey said he enlisted two psychiatrists to analyze the president from afar. China views President Donald Trump as a ‘total narcissist’ — ‘a 10-out-of-10 narcissist,’ he said. Lindsey attributed this to the president’s upbringing and said his mother didn’t pay him adequate attention in childhood. Lindsey said Trump has no long-term plans or ability to think ahead. He said the president has the long-term decision-making ability of an ‘empty chair.’ ”

A guy who develops major real estate projects that literally takes many, many years to complete has no natural skill set in long term planning but a pot/cigarette smoking community organizer from a little beach town in Hawaii does? Come on Man! This is just getting to be beyond silly now.

Yeah, that's pretty much the entire point of this CA nonsense. They're trying to artificially inflate the popular vote totals for the Democrat sacrificial lamb.

There was so much corruption on the Democrats behalf,  I can't believe the 65 million votes she did get. Sift through and figure out how many illegals or how many voted 2-5-10 times and her 65 million is a lot less. Trump may have actually won the National vote, if true accurate raw numbers could be figured out.

ANYTHING BUT ACTUAL JOURNALISM: Study: Media shifts to opinion, advocacy, ‘personal perspective.’

That shift many have sensed from hard news to opinion and advocacy in the media, especially on cable TV, is real, according to a new and authoritative report from research giant Rand Corporation.

In a study of trends from before 2000 to 2017, it found a big shift in how news is presented on TV and in online reports that means more “personal perspective,” issue advocacy, and opinion.

Rand, in its report News in a Digital Age, compared the periods for newspapers, broadcast TV, cable, and online. It looked at the words used, but did not analyze the politics of the stories, reporters, or outlets.

Newspapers, it said, have shifted in how they tell their stories, away from the old who, what, when, where, why and how approach to storytelling and personal perspective.

Broadcast has shifted to offering more opinions and arguments.

Cable TV has gone all in on opinion over news.

And online has become opinionated and advocacy based.

Well, actual journalism is work, and if you do it honestly the stories may not turn out as your politics require. Opinion and advocacy are cheap, and always match your . . . opinions.

Trump wasn’t trying to win the popular vote! He was trying to win the election...which he did. This is a textbook example of the difference between the public and private sector philosophies.

See why I think the Democrats are willing to outlaw the Republican Party?  They're doing everything they can already to disenfranchise Republicans.

Maine Senate passes bill giving state's electoral votes to national popular vote winner

so let voter fraud in any state decide?

Just remember, Trump's panel couldn't find voter fraud in Democrat-controlled states after those Democrat-controlled states refused to provide any information about voter fraud. Therefore, it didn't happen. Or something.

Can’t wait for them EC votes to go to Trump when Maine goes for Hillary or Zippy or the sidekick on a Morning Zoo show

Oh, these states are going to repeal that compact within minutes if Trump wins the "popular vote".

I wish the Dems all the health and wisdom to remain mired in the 2016 election, while the rest of the world deals with the present and future

Unlikely, but how unbelievably hilarious would it be if Trump lost won an EC he otherwise would have lost but for these stupid state laws?
