Albany,n.y. Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 I thought Anthony Federov & Bo Bice were the best tonight, but I still like Carrie Underwood to win it all. I thought Ozzie Smith's son, Nikko was the most improved from last week. He's probably the richest contestant since his father made millions in baseball.

Will see how Carrie does tomorrow night.
Yoho Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 I liked the big Samoan singer that did "Tiny Bubbles" Next I liked the guy from Alabama that did "Helter Skelter". I liked his glasses. I thought the women from Nova Scotia that did the Lox dance was good. But I guess my favorite was the girl that did a heartfelt rendition of "My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink and I Don't Love Jesus". She had just the right touch of pathos and irony.

"Tiny bubbles... in the wine" Maybe a guy who looks like Anthony Federov singing Helter Skelter! "Then I get to the bottom and I see you a-GAIN!!!!!" "Helter skelter - dunh-anunh-a-DUMMMM" Thanks Yoho for the images! What year are in?
ajzepp Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 Bo Bice made the right decision in choosing AI over his job, which subsequently led to his firing (according to him). This guy is the real deal and I think this show is going to be his launching pad. I think he and Mario Vasquez lead what is a very talented group of male performers. I'm not sold yet on Anthony Fedorov, though he did hit a note last night that was truly 'Aiken-esque'. He kicked the crap out of the song and Richard Marx at the same time. I'm less impressed with the girls (unfortunately), though Carrie is definitely very talented.

I'm a bit worried about you, AJ.
Puhonix Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 You're all forgetting about Anwar! He's definately got the talent, and he knows music, being a teacher and all, and I really think that's going to give him a big advantage.

LabattBlue Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 I like the two rockers, Constantine & Bo, because they are so different from all the other contestants. I hope they hang around for at least a few more weeks.

Not sure about Constantine... he's kinda like a Diet Bo, with a baby face.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 Well, we all need our guilty pleasures, JSP 256579[/snapback] So why not porn? I'm sure that would make stojan happy.

I see him going within the next two weeks. Hopefully, Bo will be around for a while.
stevestojan Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Tonight's bump - And more importantly, if you have the time, watch the show "HOUSE" right after. best doctor/hospital show of our time. (Better than ER) (I say of "our time", because I don't know if there were good hospital shows in the 70's Not sure if you count MASH).... And if you make it though the show without thinking "Man, Dr House is exactly how I would picture Alaska Darin", then you win a nickel.

kegtapr Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 I would like to thank all of you for contributing to the downfall of music.
nodnarb Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 that show defines everything that's wrong with the music business. to watch it is to condone every boy band ever assembled.
stevestojan Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 You guys have to realize its for pure cheap entertainment value. There will never be another Beatles. Get over it. There will never be another Elvis. Get over it. Some of these people can sing. That being said, most people watch for the same reason people slow down when they see a nasty car wreck. The thing is, American Idol isn't "the downfall of music". I watch it, but would never listen to a Top40 radio station. I can't stand the music the winner will be singing when they sign a record deal. But again, its not the downfall of music. It should actually pave an easier road for a band or performer that has some actual talent. "Holy crap, these guys are so much better than this supposed 'Idol' we are listening to". Please explain how this cheesy show of karaoke is "everything that's wrong with the music business."

ER is probably the greatest show in our lifetime.
