White Linen Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 All kidding aside, if the Bears were to release Cutler, does that make him the best available QB in free agency? I guess if you don't count the other ifs - it would be between him and Cousins.
Beef Jerky Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 (edited) Exactly. Nobody should trade for him. Now if he gets cut.....different story. Actually same story... Don't even bother. Some people on this forum never learn, stop looking for bad backup QBs. Edited February 22, 2017 by Beef Jerky
Mark Vader Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I guess if you don't count the other ifs - it would be between him and Cousins. Yes, but I think we all would expect the Bears to outright release Cutler. There is no chance that the Redskins would do that with Cousins.
Chuck Wagon Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I can't remember if cutler and B Marshall are friends or hate each other this week but I think he will go to the Jets. It would be super Jetsy for this to happen. He can also reunite with Forte. http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/chicago-bears-new-york-jets-brandon-marshall-jay-cutler-cool-020416 Last year he said he hasn't talked to Jay for two years, one of those years he was still with the Bears. He's kind of been all over the board on Cutler, will say something bad about him but then something good. With how outspoke Marshall was about the toxic Jets locker room, I'm just not sure they bring Cutler in. Just trade Cutler for Osweiler and be done with it.

dave mcbride Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Is no one else concerned that a guy whose only asset is an incredible arm just had shoulder surgery???
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I have a feeling he lands with the Jets. Can't explain why just a hunch. The bills fan in me loves this idea
PromoTheRobot Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Only an idiot would want Cutler. And we're just the idiots to do it!
Manther Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 All kidding aside, if the Bears were to release Cutler, does that make him the best available QB in free agency? No. He doesn't warrant a spot in the NFL. He isn't good enough to start and too cancerous to back up and his ego won't let him back up IMO.
RyanC883 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 um....who is going to trade for him? perhaps our 6th rounder. but his cap number is huge, so no thanks. he will be cut.
DC Tom Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Yes, but I think we all would expect the Bears to outright release Cutler. There is no chance that the Redskins would do that with Cousins. Never underestimate the drunken stupidity of Dan Snyder.
YoloinOhio Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 (edited) Cousins to SF in trade for #2 pick. Cutler to Skinzz Imo Edited February 22, 2017 by YoloinOhio
BuffaloRebound Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 He is this generations' Jeff George. Just like George, teams will keep gambling on this turd because of his arm talent.
Fan in Chicago Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 All kidding aside, if the Bears were to release Cutler, does that make him the best available QB in free agency? By those standards, its Josh McCown
NoSaint Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 if he is cut...............sure .........take a look at him Trade ??..................don't make me laugh. Think you are signing him for considerably less and essentially no guarantees or dead money? um....who is going to trade for him? perhaps our 6th rounder. but his cap number is huge, so no thanks. he will be cut. It's not anymore- it'd be 15m this year, 16m next and no dead money to get out. If you preface this as a late rounder for jay, getting a day 2 pick for TT and drafting the qb of the future at 10 --- there's some logic to gaining flexibility out of the vet qb role (both improved picks and cap)
1st&ten Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Well it's easy to mock this guy on our board but in a QB starved league he's still a legitimate starter. Do I want him to come to the Bills---no. He has physical skills, I think is problem is mental & coaching.
hondo in seattle Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I probably would do this if the bears gave us their first round pick and offered a complete apology in advance. How about if we gave the Bears a 6th round draft pick and they sent us Cutler and a 5th rounder?
nedboy7 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I think you hire Cutler. And have him clean the toilets.
GunnerBill Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I have never been a Cutler fan... but as for people saying he isn't good enough to start..? You honestly think he is not one of the best 32? I disagree with that. I don't want him here but Jay Cutler is still an NFL starting Quarterback.
