That is nightly wed-sun. Some nights more some nights less. I don't have any issue with it affecting us as far as professional life, DUI's etc. I was just seeing what the consensus is. And we rarely are incapacitated by the drinking.

They've taken over whiskey the way they took over electronics in the 1980s.

The Japanese have a single barrel called Hibiki-17 that is delightful.

The best, IMO, is a Taiwanese 11-year called Kavalan (the blue bottle).

Even the "lesser" ones like Taketsuru are great too.

Kavalan Whiskey is sold in many locations in US but the white bottle only near me in VA.
Kavalan Classic Single Malt - 750 ml, $94.99
Location list (not all listed, VA has state run ABC stores and some carry it)
I had some at a wedding last year.
This is location I believe they got it for wedding.
PASSPORT WINE & SPIRITS

No schitt?? Thank you for sharing, bandit. I had no idea. When I read your earlier post I assumed you were referring to some kind of rice or plum brew (is that racist?).

As a huge fan of brown liquor, I'll have to give this a shot. Where does one find these?

See location list link.

I just go to Premier Liquor in Amherst, NY--they have all 3 in the back room.

I bet you're fun at parties.

I am actually. I have a lot of fun, go to bars with friends, dance , sing and laugh, just don't need alcohol anymore to have fun. No hangovers, don't have to worry about a DUI, don't have to worry if I said something inappropriate to anyone. Club soda with lemon is cheaper than absolut vodka or craft beers these days.

Not an easy task with all the outside pressures we all face. I know I drink more than I probably should, but knock on wood, I am pretty sensible so far and outside of suffering through a next day hangover it really hasn't caused me any problems, so far, but I'm not stupid enough to think it can't happen. I seem to know when to stop, I've really never been embarrassed by the night before. I do my best to remain cognizant of the potential dangers of "too much" and I'll never question someone's decision to not drink. I may joke about it, but I make sure that everyone knows I am joking about it. Cheers

Good job man! Congrats on staying sober.

BTW went to Sonoma yesterday. We prefer it to Napa. We've been probably over 100 times compared to probably less than 10 to Napa since we moved here. Went cheese tasting not wine tasting. We did end up going to one of our favorite wineries and the wife did a tasting and I swirled and sniffed but no tasting. No biggie.

Well, this has been a tough one for me. Grew up in complete alcoholism and hit the ground running. I'd quit for long stretches and when the French girl went back home it was Stoli/ Gatorade at 7am. Or whenever I came to. I still drink now and then but I'm kind of bored with the toll it takes. When I drink, I drink. Voluminous amounts. It's really not worth enduring the 3 days it takes to feel normal again. This is just my experience. Others may differ.

When I was active duty I drank quite a bit. Party until 4 and a formation run at 5. lol.. Now I rarely drink. I shoot league pool on Wednesday nights and I will have 2, maybe 3 beers and that's it. Unless it's a concert or some type of event I don't drink at all anymore. A few beers is enough to make me feel like garbage the next day so I just don't care for it anymore.

I have not had a drink since the Christmas of 1980. My wife was 7 months pregnant we went to a Christmas party for the guys at work. The weather was very bad with alot of snow and alot of ice in the road and the driveway. I got so drunk that they had to help me out to my truck, and my wife ,7 month pregnant, had to walk by herself too the truck. The next morning I got up and told her I would never touch the it again. I could not believe i put my wife and kid in jeopardy because I didnt know when to say NO. I have not had any since. I guess I dont need it to have fun. I am not against someone drinking just not me anymore.

Good for you! That's why I'll never touch weed. A good high school friend of mine was in the bed of a truck and they were passing a joint through the middle window and the driver flipped the truck pinning him and paralyzing him from the waste down for life. Don't have a problem with productive people who use it. But it'll never be for me.
