Bill from NYC Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Gotham Bill, Odds are that Whaley is going to draft a DB, especially of Gilmore leaves. So brace yourself for the inevitable. Don't allow your nerves to be jangled more than necessary. Each year it's the same mind-set that has coursed through this organization resulting in the same results. So accept the inevitable and don't let it cloud your day. If the Bills don't come out of this draft with a credible qb prospect I will join the ranks that you with great distinction lead. The motto of our dispirited group is : Oh no, not again! LOL John, we are getting old. The younger posters (lucky for them) were not around for much of our suffering. When Whitner was drafted in 2006, I remember posting on TSW, asking if he was tall enough to get on all of the rides at Disney. We were here for draft after draft watching our GMs shun good quarterbacks and blockers for much less useful players. That said, I will never stop hoping. SOME day, we will have a killer draft! We will probably have to get rid of Whaley for this to occur but again, there is always hope.
H2o Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 They cut him, they didn't cut, now the Jags are interested, the story goes on.
Saxum Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/02/16/report-dolphins-will-cut-branden-albert/ I'd look at him as an option for RT, plus he can play some guard like he did in college. Bonus that he doesn't count against the compensatory pick formula since he's a cut. Anonymous source says he was being cut because he was being beat regularly by Mario Williams in practice. GunnerBill Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 you never know but I doubt it. To give up a draft pick or player I'd guess it's a team without a viable LT. NYG, Jets, Jags, Panthers come to mind. Denver?
YoloinOhio Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) Denver?yes. Sounds like Jags are willing to give up a pick though - not a bad idea considering the lack of OTs in this draft. Edited February 18, 2017 by YoloinOhio
T master Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 He's got to be better than what the Bills had there last season !!!
GunnerBill Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 yes. Sounds like Jags are willing to give up a pick though - not a bad idea considering the lack of OTs in this draft. Yep. And they have a desperate. Their risk in Beachum was a disaster. I think Albert would be another risk for them.
YoloinOhio Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Julius Thomas could end up in Miami in swap for Branden Albert http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/02/19/report-dolphins-jags-working-on-branden-albert-julius-thomas-swap/
Doc Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 One injure-prone player for another. And are the Dols trading for Peyton Manning circa 2013-2104 as well?
C.Biscuit97 Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 Julius Thomas could end up in Miami in swap for Branden Albert http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/02/19/report-dolphins-jags-working-on-branden-albert-julius-thomas-swap/ I guess it's better to get something rather than cut him for nothing. Plus, Bortles is bad so sadly, Tannehill would be an upgrade.
