Doc Brown
Trump voters don't believe Don Jr. met Russian lawyer Less than half of recently polled Trump supporters believe Donald Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer, despite the president's eldest son admitting he attended the controversial meeting. In spite of confirmation from Trump Jr. himself, 32 percent of respondents said the meeting didn't happen and 24 percent said they're not sure. https://www.aol.com/article/news/2017/07/18/trump-voters-dont-believe-don-jr-met-russian-lawyer/23036294/ Again, confirming my theory that the media has been hammering the Russia/Trump collusion thread so hard that when some actual evidence of possible collusion comes up, some people are apathetic. Magox
Again, confirming my theory that the media has been hammering the Russia/Trump collusion thread so hard that when some actual evidence of possible collusion comes up, some people are apathetic. I was just about to make this point that this is just as much of an indictment on the media than anything else. Fox news wasn't created in a vacuum, it was created because large swaths of the country didn't feel that the media cover stories that were important to them. Now you have a visceral and often times ignorant reaction to what the media peddles, even though it could be true because they don't trust what the media says. I yearn for a news organization that just provides straight news, with no slant, no agenda, no opining just straight news. Both have leanings but strive for objective reporting. I read the Economist (not always all of it--dense). I also read the crappier papers. The NYT and others occasionally have a stunning bit of investigative journalism that's hard to deny.

Tiberius
One thing I found interesting about the Watergate situation was how it dragged out until the mid term elections of 1974 began to appear on the horizon. Once the idea of holding elections through a major presidential scandal sank in the GOP was more than ready to dump Nixon. So on that time line we are still a whole year out. im not saying or predicting Trump will be impeached, but next summer there will be a lot more pressure on people running in November to have some sort of stated opinion on the Presidents conduct with Russia

In the end Trump's story Russia will involve money laundering, real estate deals with corrupt oligarchs and the sanctions.

He's been jailing opposing oligarchs for years and then making all of their assets his through state appropriations. He's a thug, plain and simple. Mario Puzo couldn't even write Putin's story. This is essentially what the media and democrats are doing, they find one non sequitur move to another then to another that have very little to do with the underlying charge. Which is why at this stage, unless there is an actual smoking gun it is all white noise, I've completely tuned out to anything relating to Russia. K-9
You guys still talking about collusion? Weeks ago, when Mueller began populating his team with experts on money laundering, particularly money laundering in Eastern Europe, collusion became the least of it. Tiberius
Troubling ties, is that code for capitalist pigs trying to make grotesque profits off of international business dealings? No, it's about corruption. And a secret meeting that the President won't say what was talked about with the guy who tried hacking our election and who also is one of the most corrupt people on earth is suspicious
