Alphadawg7 Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Sammy saw the 54th most targets in the NFL in 2015. He had less targets than Danny Woodhead. That was the Seattle game where we had a second round pick go off at WR, right? No need to use #10 for that. Get someone who impacts the game more than 5 plays per game. So you ignored the part about the final 9 games when Sammy was Healthy huh...man you are so typical every time. You just love to skew things.

Not sure why that means the other games that he wasn't so great in no longer count. Edited February 14, 2017 by FireChan
Alphadawg7 Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 He was healthy? Why did he have surgery in the offseason then? Why are we ignoring the first 7 games? He was dealing with nagging injuries the first part of the season. Not to mention it was TT first games ever as an NFL starting QB. Over the final 9 games of the season, he averaged almost 9 targets per game. And his production on those targets were great. Most importantly, you replied to a post that cited specifically that once Sammy was at full strength over those last 9 games...then went on to reply with whole season information ignoring what you were actually responding too.

It's okay arguing with FireChan is like arguing with a brick wall. No matter how logical your argument once he has a point of view he won't change it.
Alphadawg7 Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 (edited) What was the post of mine you responded to? Just because you cherry pick half a year doesn't mean I have to. Dude, Sammy missed 3 games in the first half the season due to a lingering injury. He didn't get healthy until after the bye week and was healthy the rest of the season. Just stop for once from being a complete jackass and ignoring facts to do everything in your power to slam Tyrod in every single thread including ones that have nothing to do with him. Geezus, you are really the worst. Sorry, but your Trumped up approach to facts don't hold up to reality. Sammy was hurt and limited for the first half of the season. I SPECIFICALLY STATED that once he was healthy, which started week 9 after the bye week, he was both highly targeted in a RUN FIRST offense and highly productive. Nothing you can do can make that information false. And the point once again is...a talented healthy WR has both been highly targeted and productive in this offense. So you just blindly stating that its pointless to add talent to this team at WR is ridiculous. HINT: Everyone knows you have a die hard wet dream to see TT leave this team...you don't have to go into every thread and restated your agenda over and over again. #34fan Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 WR1: Watkins WR2: ideally Woods (2nd FA priority behind Z. Brown), but for slightly less $ we can get D. Jackson from WAS (who has said he wants to play with Shady again), or for even more savings, Taylor's former teammate Aiken from BAL WR3: Hunter WR4: Powell WR5: Listenbee WR6: Patterson would be an upgrade, but also okay with retaining Tate WR7: Easley (depending on if he is valuable enough to make the final 53) Remove Sammy from your WR corp, (a likely event given his foot issues) and we got nothin'... Are we gonna pound McCoy until there's nothing left???. OJ Howard.-OR-Corey Davis... -Lets win some damn games.

So doesn't apply. If Sammy got "healthy" after the bye week, why did he have surgery in the offseason to treat a broken foot? None of the rest of what you've been saying even matters. Because my original point, that you responded to, was that getting another WR at 10 would be a waste. Robert Woods averaged about 5 targets per game in 2015 opposite Sammy. Using #10 to replace those 5 targets is just idiotic.

I understand a lot of the points people make about Tyrod, I'm just also being realistic about what you can expect from any of the guys in the draft. I think it would be difficult for any QB to succeed if we don't go into the season with a better WR2 and WR3. I'm up for drafting a QB in the 2nd but would like any QB to walk in with a viable WR corp even if Sammy goes down.
Marty McFly Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Thanks for your reply. I know everyone has different opinions on Tyrod, but I would keep Tyrod and go WR in the first. Here's the rest of what I would do: WR1: Watkins WR2: Corey Davis (1st Rounder) WR3: Cooper Kupp (3rd Rounder) if hes gone Zay Jones or JuJu Smith-Schuster WR4: Listenbee WR5: Re-sign Justin Hunter WR6: Walt Powell Personally I think Tyrod could succeed with these weapons and I think that there are CB and Safety options in FA that McDermott could make work. Im good with this except the 2nd WR pick. Shady might bring in DJax as a FA too. There are a lot of good FA WRs this season so I think we draft one high between 1st-3rd rounds and sign a FA, also re-sign Hunter, Powell, and Tate as our KR. That isn't too far off for me. I like the option of Davis / Williams at 10 and Jeremy Kerley in FA to play the slot. I would re-sign Hunter as the 4 and use him in the RZ. I would use Listenbee outside of the RZ. Agree, though I would wanna take a S at 10 I wouldnt be mad at a WR 2 reasons for me: 1. New OC & Offensive system likely means more passing 2. You want the pieces in place when you do find a replacement QB in the draft Excellent points Hoke.
Hyphe23 Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 (edited) I'd be okay with Desean Jackson, I actually hadn't heard that rumor. Actually if we got him I would be fine not going WR in round 1, I just didn't think he was a real option given our cap situation and the fact that I thought he would get about $9-$10 mil a year ( just a guess since I've been hearing $7 for Woods).
