He'll want guarantees thus a team giving him 2 years based upon where he is in his career and what he has shown is Grossly overpaying. You have any examples of a 36+ year old player missing better part of 2 seasons reverting to Pro Bowl form? Seems like there are SO MANY IF's in your scenario (Healthy, Returns to Form, Retires if hurt)... Don't see how anyone but a desperate GM makes this move. Look at where we are now. A good defense and kicker and we get to the playoffs. And that good defense may simply be a scheme change.

I mean, they are if's because they are opposites, He can't play a full season and return to form, while retiring, ya dig?

If Romo gets hurt, play Rookie and draft Darnold.

If he's healthy, playoffs.

That's really it.

WTF are you talking about if's because they are opposites. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever..

1. If he is healthy

2. If he returns to form

3. If he gets hurt and then decides to retire

4. If he gets hurt and we are in position to Draft Darnald

5.Then there is this but of course this time is different (Note no USC QB has played a single down in the Super Bowl)

You think if Romo is healthy, he could suck? Whaaaaaat? He looked fine in 2016.

If he's hurt, we tank dude. It's easy. Ask the Colts.

Dude.... Have you ever seen a late 30's QB lose it suddenly? Coming off 2 years of MAJOR INJURIES one would be a complete fool to say it CAN'T happen. As Far as tanking It worked for the Colts so it is a guarantee it works for us... **** by that logic Cardale Jones will be a Hall of Fame QB because he lost his job in college and so did Brady. Stop it already.

I mean, losing a lot of games and taking a #1 overall QB works quite a bit. Not always, but you got a pretty good shot.

Yeah some QB's lose it suddenly That makes Romo no more of a risk than any other older QB, except those guys aren't available. Clearly, a Rivers or Brees is more ideal, but we can't get them.

You then are talking about basically WORST in League tank and do you think that happens given a team having the talent we have. You are talking about a 2-14 team and we may have surpassed that by time a Romo gets injured . So the whole tank thing is also a big IF.

If we play Cardale or a mediocre rookie and the defense plays like the 2016 defense, yes. As long as we aren't stupid and win 3 of our last 6 to get us to 6-10 and out of the top 5 like so many years past.

Budy... Thanks for piping in but I'm not saying anything about TT in Houston.

There is a 2nd paragraph to this post that got mangled by the BB software about Romo as well, as it is all about cap space for Houston..

What if we're 6-3 when he gets hurt? Tank for what? Too late. If we get Romo we need a viable backup QB.

Fish made the playoffs in part cuz they had a viable backup, not some rookie. Giants won the SB cuz they had a good backup.
