YoloinOhio Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) ESPN signs Rex Ryan. Former coach will appear on-air Super Bowl Sunday. http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2017/01/30/Media/RexRyan.aspx Rex Ryan: Headset to studio set Will ESPNs one-day deal with former Bills coach Rex Ryan lead to a long-term arrangement? ESPN says the deal only covers Super Bowl Sunday, but it clearly makes ESPN a front-runner to sign Ryan to a longer deal if hes unable to find a coaching job he likes. "Rex is a great personality and has a unique perspective,"said Seth Markman, ESPN senior coordinating producer. "He knows the Patriots really well. He's raring to go." Jerry Jabber Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Good for him, I think he will do well in broadcasting.
judman Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 The competition is nfln, fox and cbs. I'll bet rex will go 8-8 next year at espn.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Will get Rob a job? Maybe fetching coffee?
ALLEN1QB Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Fat A$$ will sit in the booth ordering wings.
VaMilBill Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 "He knows the Patriots really well." Probably a reason espn will want to hire Rex....we all know espn likes to coddle the Pats balls
Flip Johnson Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 He should've went for this two years ago. It was clear he didn't want to coach. I think this is all too true.
1st Ammendment NoMas Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Why does this idiot get work? Nepotism is a disease.
Captain_Quint Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) He'll be 'The Goose' part 2. The lovable, loudmouth fat guy who stumbles along the sidelines shouting ignorant comments into the mic. Its pretty much what hes been doing for the last few anyway, so he should be good at it. Lofton80 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Look: I get it..........(wash, rinse, repeat)
Kirby Jackson Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I think that Rex will do well on TV. That is where he belongs IMO as his system is antiquated. He is a colorful guy, isn't afraid to ruffle feathers but is genuinely likable. He might be great on TV.
White Linen Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Why does this idiot get work? Nepotism is a disease. Pretty ridiculous post. Not liking him as your coach and wishing he doesn't get work is a totally different thing. Wreaks of jealousy.

KD in CA Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Why does this idiot get work? Nepotism is a disease. I'm not sure you know what 'nepotism' means. Obviously he got work because his personality will attract attention on TV.
YoloinOhio Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) I think this is his true calling. He will be great on TV. It's right in his wheelhouse. He's very good off the cuff and has a ton of stories. He'll be very self-effacing I'm sure, and people will love it. Edited January 30, 2017 by YoloinOhio
