QB Cost per win

This came up in another thread. The question posed was how much did each win cost in QB salary. I didn't quite follow it but I took the positional group as a whole and divided it by wins.

Here are the results:

Some interesting things:

bottom 3 teams per win are the top 3 teams picking. Part of that is because of the small number fo wins but in the case of Chicago and SF they have quite a bit of money tied up in subpar qbs.

The average is just over 2 million per win. Only 4 of the playoff teams went over the average. The other 8 were under.

The best win:cost ratio were for 4 teams that have rookie qb contracts.

NE being 5th is just criminal. IMO part of what makes Brady so good is his willingness to take less money than his competitors to help have a better team around him. Flacco got paid and his team is now terrible because of it.

If Buffalo extends Tyrod and has his cap hit of 17 million while winning 17 games they would be at the 10th highest cost per win. If they were to improve to 9 wins they would drop all the way to 19th.

How?!?!? :bag:

but thank you!

Use the 'code' function... looks like <> on the toolbar of the post editor. Helps to paste your table into Notepad or Textedit on your computer, and make sure everything is tabbed correctly first too. Feel free to copy/paste my post into yours (hit Quote first, then copy that, instead of just directly from the page)

Awesome, thanks for putting this together. This makes it look like: It's best to win 10+ games, and worst to win 3 or less games. Hmmmmmm...

Also: Is NYJ at $10.1MM accurate?

I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, I promise!

Young, first contract QB's at the top until you get to......New England? Did Brady move $$$ out of this year because he was going to miss 1/4? Because he didn't play? Hmmm. But 3 of the last 4 teams are middle of the pack. A QB on a fair deal who won a bunch of games.

It may be a good idea for a stickied tutorial on this stuff. I see people not using these functions correctly all the time.
