Dictatorships, yes, but secular with many different religions living together in relative harmony prior to interference by outside nation states. Saddam enforced harmony over the majority Shiites with brutality. Both Syria and Lybia were falling apart and might have fallen into civil war without us. But what Mr. Gaziano told Republicans on Wednesday was that the CRA grants them far greater powers, including the extraordinary ability to overrule regulations even back to the start of the Obama administration. The CRA also would allow the GOP to dismantle these regulations quickly, and to ensure those rules can’t come back, even under a future Democratic president. No kidding. Nor would I ever waste my time getting physical with anyone but Ryan. But, foreplay and physical harm are two different things, especially when one is welcome and one is not.
