PromoTheRobot Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Buffalo Bills @buffalobills 13m13 minutes ago More We've got another Pro Bowler in the house. #GoBills Congrats on your first-ever #ProBowl nod, @ZachBrown_55! http://bufbills.co/Je3ujE That's 6 terrible Bills players selected.
Saint Doug Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 I've been named to the pro bowl too. Really, everyone seems to be named to the pro bowl nowadays.
nucci Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Being named to the Pro Bowl has lost it's meaning
PromoTheRobot Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 Being named to the Pro Bowl has lost it's meaning Yeah, it's a real mark of shame these days.
K D Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Lots of defensive players from a team that was a mess on defense
Saint Doug Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Yeah, it's a real mark of shame these days. I really don't think that's what he meant. Making the Pro Bowl in the year 1990 meant a whole lot more than it does today. Even the players don't even care about actually playing in it. Now it's just a bargaining chip during contract negotiations.

Less for how the defense did as a whole.
Maury Ballstein Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Being named to the Pro Bowl has lost it's meaning If it had meaning Brady, Ben, Carr, Luck would be the qb's.
Big C Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Being named to the Pro Bowl as an alternate shouldn't count, or should get a different designation somehow..
Kirby Jackson Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 It's a nice honor for all of these guys. The players, coaches and fans thought that they were among the better players at their positions. We can act as if it's no big deal but it puts all of these guys in the top handful within the AFC. It may be watered down some but it's still an honor. Congrats to Shady, Richie, Tyrod, Lorax, Kyle, Gilmore and Zach Brown on their invites!!
Saxum Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Being named to the Pro Bowl has lost it's meaning Yeah, it's a real mark of shame these days. Should call it the nucci award - completely meaningless like last draft pick in draft.
BADOLBILZ Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) Lots of defensive players from a team that was a mess on defense They didn't lack for talent but man did guys like Zach and Hughes put some bad tape out there at the end of the year. Biggest issue was not swarming to the football..........never seen more "you got this" let ups two steps away from the ball carrier.......followed by huge plays after breaking a solo tackle that 3-4 players should have been in on. McDermott's evaluation of these guys will be interesting........they basically put the final nail in Rex' coffin with the phantom tackling so despite the talent we might see Zach and Gilmore leave.......and possibly regret it if McDermott can't subsequently make this defense better with less talent. Saint Doug Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 That's true. Brown got in because he led second in the NFL for tackles. Less for how the defense did as a whole. A guess that's a huge accomplishment considering it was all done in the first half of the season.
BillsFan130 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Good for brown. Had a good year. Although he seemed to tail off a bit towards the end of the year
Saxum Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 The entire defense other than Kyle seemed tired at end of year. Conditioning or on field too much?
Kirby Jackson Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 The entire defense other than Kyle seemed tired at end of year. Conditioning or on field too much?Probably a little bit of both. When teams slam it down your throat on the ground it wears you out (hence ground and pound).
