CanadianFan
so TBN said what some of you were thinking and saying.. and what I was thinking and didn't want to say it... and it also explains why TT was in the building when McDermott held his presser. And the Dennison hiring just fills in the pieces of the puzzle. sorry if someone else posted here already. http://buffalonews.com/2017/01/20/examining-rick-dennisons-hiring-means-tyrod-taylor/

Beef Jerky
McDermott will be here until after Brady retires. Then his hotseat will begin.
CanadianFan
Yeah, well after we win a few of these "upsets", they won't be "upsets" anymore. That, and probably at least a few those tough looking games now won't turn out to be once they get here. Like the Colts win I sited in my post for example. yeah that's wishful thinking. IF everything goes their way, heck, they win superbowl! yeah right. not with this team. not with the players they got, or can get. Not superbowl material. That's why they play the games. I'll watch, because unfortunately like you, I can't predict the future. Just curious, did you pick the Fish to make the playoffs this year? 26TrapDraw
I was watching the 1990 AFC Championship game yesterday to remember what it was like to have a good team. On the other side of the ball on the raiders D at LB? Our own OC....One Ricky Dennison

On the other side of the ball on the raiders D at LB? Our own OC....One Ricky Dennison Schit. So when we play the Raiders in the AFC Championship game next year in Buffalo, does that mean he is going to throw the game so his beloved Raiders team can get their revenge? I knew it. Dennison is a spy. Bills can't have good things. Dammit.

JohnC
The engineering point is awesome - thanks for pointing that out. Although, as a lawyer who has had to manage engineers as witnesses - they are the absolute worst (second worst actually - lawyers themselves are the worst witnesses). Is it because the insufferable arrogance permeating from the witness stand is not an appealing trait to the jury deciding the case? Or is it because obfuscation is not very clarifying? Just saying. PolishDave
Pretty sad when you have to roll out a VHS tape to see the last time we were good. It is so much fun to do. The problem is that the recordings were all analog and crappy so you end up watching a really blurry game on modern television screens with super high resolution. It reminds you of how much technology has advanced in that short amount of time.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch
Oh Please, you want to believe that story, fine. Here's mine, pure speculation, but then again it's really nothing more than speculation that he was ever even really offered a job and why he turned it down. I do think TP offered him a job, but more as a consultant/low powered czar. Next thing you're hearing how Bill P is planning to hire his son and bring back AJ Smith, at that point Terry told him no, I'd like to hire you to do this specifically, but you're not running the show. At that point, Bill P walked away with his tail between his legs, but publicly gave this "too heavy a lift" story to make his tail look much better. And since he's a media guy himself, works for ESPN, they all bought it up big time and helped sell it down the line. TP is a pretty private kind of guy so he wouldn't be the type to come out and tell anyone what really happened, he was fine with Bill P spinning his tale. Another happy paying customer! I’ll also bring up how our former, and now HOF GM took a serious look, and determined it was, in his exact words, “too heavy a lift.” But apparently, we just had to hire Richie Cunningham… and Happy Days are here again! Coach Tuesday
Is it because the insufferable arrogance permeating from the witness stand is not an appealing trait to the jury deciding the case? Or is it because obfuscation is not very clarifying? Just saying. Those are part of it - but mostly it's because lawyers and engineers are intelligent problem solvers who try to answer the questions they think are being asked, or should be asked, rather than the questions that actually were asked... Ed_Formerly_of_Roch
Agree that was around the number I came up with too that really worry me. The rest don't matter much. Granted 8 still may be more than other teams, but am willing to bet there are some teams out there who are losing less total players, but are potentially losing more impact ones. Yeah, that list is very replaceable. There are maybe 8 guys they should hang on to, and combined they cost less than what we've spent on Dareus' missed games. Well that's because they can see through the question and understand what the real issue is. Those are part of it - but mostly it's because lawyers and engineers are intelligent problem solvers who try to answer the questions they think are being asked, or should be asked, rather than the questions that actually were asked... BP probably meant it was "too heavy a lift" to be GM anywhere. No one has hired him since he left the Colts in 2011.
Augie
Pretty sad when you have to roll out a VHS tape to see the last time we were good. Other than those limited VHS tapes, you have to go back to cave drawings. Sad, indeed.
