Would you want to find out?

Take a look at that graph on the two cities in Italy, one that shut down early and one that did not.

It's not a free lunch, and the unintended consequences could be more severe.   Watch out for the spikes in suicide rates, and possibly many more overdose deaths.

Chinese activists say domestic violence cases have risen dramatically as people across much of the country have been quarantined during the coronavirus outbreak.

Of course it's not a free lunch, and no person making decisions thinks so--It is cost-benefit.  Do you really think the costs would be less if we went around doing business as usual?  And it's not just those who get the virus, many needing any kind of critical care will not get it once the system hits capacity.

It seems clear to me that the best course of action now--the one that will reduce the number of deaths intended or unintende--is to shut everything down like Wuhan and Lodi did.

For how long? To do that it would almost have to be serious already or people won't listen.

He's toast anyway. This will pass. Feel bad about people losing their jobs, though. That's tough.

Well, except for Trump losing his

No one in their right mind is going to think a Biden or Sanders could leadthe country out of the economic fallout that’s sure to come from this. They’ll turn the USA into a wasteland where everyone is on some kind of government benefits and there is no work; as that’s exactly what they want.

Trump's a blithering idiot. Of course Biden would be better at handling this. Of course.

Obama got us out of the last one.

Banks seem well prepared this time around. Why is that? Just asking...

The last one ? Sorry but this hasn’t happened in our lifetimes.Obama faced nothing like this at all. Can’t compare a virus to a banking collapse. The overreaction by Dem Governors is ridiculous. They want everyone on welfare and unemployment.

I think that most people will be surprised as to the UC's that will develop.  The service industry will be hit hard as it includes restaurants.  I hate to keep going back to this but many eateries in college towns rely on full semesters to make their livings as they have slow downs to deal with during the summer and Christmas breaks.  Farmers relying on exports for commodities such as soybeans could see the US bottleneck thus reducing income.  Restaurant owners and farmers contribute to their local economies in terms of buying supplies and on the high end vehicles so the associated businesses will take a hit.

As much as I would like to ignore Tibs and the liberal college professors who have their own weekend shows a person has to keep an eye on the opposition.  Too many impressionable young people out there that need a voice to point out what is wrong with these fools.

  Scrooge McDuck (BNBB's)?

Closing everything under the sun. Many businesses will not survive due to their overreach. Unemployment will skyrocket , which is right in their wheelhouse.

You'd rather have the hospitals crowded so the sick can't be treated? That's right in the rights wheelhouse

Don’t have to close businesses to deal with that issue if it arises. There are other buildings that could be utilized etc. totally different topic though. The Economy is going to be destroyed.

That's the left's goal. They have run out of ammunition, now they are down to throwing their guns.
