How ridiculously stupid. They'd probably get a better return if they just lit the $10M on fire and let homeless people warm themselves around it.

You don't have a point. You never have and never will.

You can't disagree with him having a point... You can debate the logical legitimacy of his point, but at the end of the day, it's his point that he was striving to make and it's his standard as to whether or not it was made.

Or gave it to any of the real organizations that provide true services to empowering people in need... But nah. Mah climate control.

Really goes to show what a company is worth when other companies take that tax break and invest it in their people, while this one pisses it away to earn political chips.

It's $10M spent on marketing, but spent in such a way (charitable donations) that it reduces their tax burden.

It's actually rather brilliant- lower your effective tax rate by protesting your current "too-low" tax rate in a way that promotes your brand.

They will certainly increase rates next month, but it's quite possible they will back off a bit next year as growth slows in 2019.

This will be an interesting quarter. It looks like consumers (via debt) will make up for the slowdown in  business spending, but the impact will be offset by a rise in imports, since the majority of consumer products are produced overseas.

Looks like that is the FED's plan or lack thereof...

We should make them out of kevlar, then we'll have a very strong dollar.

Tougher to dispense from an ATM though.

Don't confuse Gleeful Gator. He's still trying to figure out why there are not 48 weeks in a year since there are 4 weeks in a month.

Oldie but goodie right there.

Don't see why.  You'd probably have to use a much finer weave than they normally do, with finer thread.  But a good twill-woven fabric with #69 thread should work fine.
