Coach Tuesday Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Looks like Greg Olson is our OC. Yep. Assuming it'll be announced tomorrow.
DallasMac Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 That's actually pretty good production for McFadden who was injured half the time and Michael Bush, with no passing game whatsoever. Was going to say the same thing
PromoTheRobot Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Didn't we all think Fred Jackson might join the coaching staff?
The Jokeman Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Didn't we all think Fred Jackson might join the coaching staff? He might still get a Quality Control position and I also noticed Kromer's on staff as a Coaching Assistant, am sure he won't be here if his old man isn't.
87168 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 The identity of the run game: Shady McCoy. + Gills for the powered downhill.
BillsGuru4 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Yep. Assuming it'll be announced tomorrow. Please god no!!! Maybe as qb coach
Peter Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I know nothing about this guy other than what I am reading in this thread. It is interesting that Skipper is being replaced in Jacksonville by one of our former coaches - Tyrone Wheatley. Didn't we all think Fred Jackson might join the coaching staff? As I recall, when Fred was cut, he called Doug Whaley dishonest or something like that. Unless they kissed and made up, I suspect that he is not likely to be a coach with the Bills. I do think that he would be a good one though.
purple haze Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 He's yet another mediocre coach who under performs consistently. How do these guys continue to get jobs? They have some damn good agents. A quote from the Florida Times Union when the Jags hired him: "Oaklands run game statistics were woeful last year. The Raiders were last in yards per game (77.5) and rushing touchdowns (four). In Skippers six years, the Raiders running game finished 21st, second, seventh, 28th, 12th and last. Oaklands combined six-year run-game ranking was 16th in yards and 12th in yards per attempt." Can you tell us who the RBs were and who was on the offensive line? A of that does play a part. Poor Shady and TD Mike are going to forget how to run the rock now that Skipper has shown up... 😐
Andrew Son Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I love the judgment from people who have probably never heard of the guy prior to the announcement! This place is something else
Chef Jim Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 The OL coach has more to do with the quality of the running game than the RB coach.
Nanker Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Are you sure that's not Anthony Lynn? I think it's Aaron Kromer.
somnus00 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Didn't this guy play O-Line for the Washington Sentinals? "Nandeska!"
ndirish1978 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I love the judgment from people who have probably never heard of the guy prior to the announcement! This place is something else The guy was most recently on a staff people don't respect working under an OC who people REALLY don't want to see here. Our last RB coach is now the HC of the Chargers, it seems like quite a dropoff
Doc Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 The guy was most recently on a staff people don't respect working under an OC who people REALLY don't want to see here. Our last RB coach is now the HC of the Chargers, it seems like quite a dropoff Shady has done well under multiple OCs.
Chilly Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) I love the judgment from people who have probably never heard of the guy prior to the announcement! This place is something else I would think being able to coach Shady would put us in a position to get a badass RB coach with good experience. Edited January 18, 2017 by Chilly
ndirish1978 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Shady has done well under multiple OCs. Yeah I'm not saying I don't like him. I quite literally know nothing about him other than what was posted in this very thread. I was just responding to a commenter complaining about the negativity. Yep. Assuming it'll be announced tomorrow. Most likely. At the very least the people in the building KNOW who the next OC is, otherwise it makes absolutely NO sense why we'd be hiring offensive assistants without the input of the OC. Where the heck is Leroi when you need him?!
Doc Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Given the quality of the running backs on the Bills, the running back coach is probably the least important coach on the entire team.
Direhard Fan Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Why does this board wack every new hire and every admin in the orgination? If you are so good at these assements why are you not in this job with some team making millions? Just asking.
Houston's #1 Bills Fan Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I still am amazed at all the offense-side hires without naming a coordinator yet! I am not hopeful with Olsen. I'd have been much happier if the headline was "Greg Olsen - new player/TE Coach". And, yes, I meant THAT Greg Olsen!!
HT02 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 @buffalobills Kelly Skipper has signed on as our running backs coach. More on the man to coach Shady and our great RB crew: http://bufbills.co/JvuarU You'd think we'd hire the OC first
