Thurman tweeted these after McDermott's press conference:

AVP is Alex Van Pelt, SG is Sam Gash, but no idea who TH is.

I wish I could see those tweets but Thurman blocked me for arguing politics with him last summer.

Ha! That's what I was thinking. Someone who knows him read it here. They texted him. He said "Awesome opportunity for me to start a totally unsubstantiated rumor."

@viccarucci

Doesn't appear to be any substance to #Bills' reported interest in Alex Van Pelt for OC job.

Translation: Polian told me he wouldn't hire him.

Remember when Carucci said the Bills HC search was a farce because they had already hired Lynn? That was funny.

I've always liked Van Pelt, so I'm cool with this unofficial announcement that he's our new OC. Don't hold his last stint against him - he was totally unqualified for the job at the time, and thrust into it just days before the season started.

Still waiting for Vic to own up that his "playoff ultimatum for both Rex and Whaley" report was wrong. Instead, he's doubled down and conveniently forgotten the Whaley part. I maintain that there never was an ultimatum, and that Rex was still very much in play to come back until his atrocious performance in the Miami game.

Buffalo Bills, Alex Van Pelt offensive coordinator rumors appear false
The Bills don’t have any interest in their former offensive coordinator.

“Doesn't appear to be any substance to Bills' reported interest in Alex Van Pelt for OC job,” wrote Carucci Thursday morning.
While Bills fans had been floating his name for the past week, no one actually reported any legitimate interest until a tweet from noted rumor monger Jason La Canfora. Even that tweet was worded so nebulously, it was difficult to take seriously. (We didn’t report it on the site.)

So which false rumor monger do we believe? LaConjecture or CTE Victim?

He pounded on the table with this and pretty much killed any credit he had as an insider.
